Responsibilities
The Benefits Manager manages company-wide benefit programs including retirement plans, medical, life / AD&D, disability benefits, leave of absence and deferred compensation plan for all employees in the organization. This position is also responsible for analyzing and evaluating current benefits program and practices and making recommendations on new and/or improved employee benefit programs, process and cost-saving measures to ensure company offerings are competitive and cost effective to attract, engage, and retain talent. Partners with the third-party benefits administrators to ensure getting compliance with all legal requirements of various employee benefit programs and reviews. This position will also manage the benefit modules of the HRIS.

- Responsible for end-to-end management and administration of employee health and welfare, and retirement benefits programs
- Manage and administer benefits communications, including but not limited to company-wide communications, new hire communications, brochures, and newsletters.
- Build, implement, and refine internal benefits related workflow processes across the company to align with best practices with departmental strategy.
- Research and understand employee and candidate needs, as well as market conditions and trends to ensure company benefit programs are competitive and aligned to company and employee interests. Provide recommendations to management of enhancements or changes to benefits programs to align with research.
- Manage relationships with benefits consultants, carriers, and vendors to ensure service level agreements are met and programs are cost-effective
- Partners with the Vice President Total Rewards in the development of both short and long-term benefits strategies
- Partner with People Operations to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness of strategies, policies, and procedures. Develop training, communications, and change management plan with any new benefits offerings
- Manages company well-being program.
- Effectively partner and collaborate with internal partners including, but not limited to, Accounting, Payroll, and Legal teams. Manages regulatory compliance including, preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies (for example, 5500 filings and ACA required reporting).
- Manage annual open enrollment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in HR administration, business administration or related field preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in benefits, with experience in plan structure, administration, and employee engagement
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of the US federal, state and local laws associated with qualified health and welfare as well as 401(k) benefits plans i.e. ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA and FMLA.
- Experience with UKG software preferred
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
