Licensed Practical Nurse or Graduate LPN Surgical 3B

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Nurses work 12-hour shifts 7pm-7am with rotational weekends. Only nightshift currently available. Full time and part time available.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements within 90 days of graduation.
• Experience: Can be new or experienced LPN
  Must be LPN-IV Certification issued by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
  Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Unit Information:

The Surgical 3B unit has 32 patient beds, with a nurse to patient ratio of 1-6 on days and nights. This unit is a fast-paced medical surgical telemetry floor which focuses on pre- and post-surgical patients, with a focus on GI, Urology and ENT surgeries. The Surgical 3B unit offers the opportunity to learn and perfect critical nursing skills such as:

• Head to toe assessments
• Telemetry monitoring
• NG tubes
• IV insertions
• CBI's
• Chest tubes, Trach and ostomy care
• Drains
• Wound Care
