Mercury's ability to serve its customers well depends on what happens behind the scenes—and Mission Control is at the center of that. It's the platform that empowers every internal team to keep Mercury's banking processes moving: payment operations, banking engineers, customer support, compliance, and risk all open it every day to know what needs attention, what needs investigation, and what needs action.
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own Mission Control from strategy to execution—and to build the next generation of the platform from the ground up. The tooling your users need doesn't fully exist yet, which makes this a genuinely 0-to-1 role with real stakes: what you build will be felt by nearly every team at Mercury, every single day. You'll have an explicit mandate to leverage AI to ship smarter operator tooling, and to hold Mercury's quality and design bar in a context where most companies settle for good enough.
**Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC.
As part of the journey, we would expect you to:
-
Own the Mission Control roadmap: Define and drive the strategy and execution plan for Mercury's internal operator platform, keeping pace with Mercury's growth and regulatory requirements.
-
Build for the people who run Mercury: Develop deep empathy for the operators who live in Mission Control every day—payment ops, banking engineers, compliance, customer support—and translate their workflows into efficient, elegant tooling they'll rely on.
-
Set a high quality bar for internal products: Champion Mercury's design and quality standards in internal tooling, proving that "internal-facing" doesn't mean second class.
-
Leverage AI to ship and scale: Identify where AI-powered features and intelligent automation can give operators leverage—helping them work faster, catch issues sooner, and do more with less.
-
Define controls and safety: Own the design of role-based access controls, separation of duties workflows, and audit logging that ensure safe, compliant actions across the platform.
-
Drive cross-functional alignment: Partner with engineering, design, compliance, risk, and operations to align on priorities and ship outcomes that keep Mercury's banking operations running at their best.
Some things that might make you successful in a role like this:
-
7+ years of product management experience, ideally in fintech or building operator-facing or internal platforms.
-
A track record of shipping high-quality internal tools, admin experiences, or operator platforms—not just building them, but making them something teams are proud to use.
-
Deep empathy for internal users who rely on your product to do high-stakes work every single day.
-
Genuine excitement about AI as a product tool: you think actively about how AI can make operators faster and more effective, not just as a buzzword but as something you'd build toward.
-
Comfort navigating technical complexity—you engage deeply with engineers on systems, data flows, access control, and audit requirements without needing to write the code yourself.
-
A strong design sensibility that extends beyond consumer products—you believe every user interface deserves thoughtfulness, even when the user sits inside the company.
-
An excellent communicator and collaborator who thrives working across a diverse set of stakeholders and levels of seniority.
