Job Description

The Customer Segment Strategy team within Integrated Account Management (IAM) Strategic Insights organization is responsible for helping to shape IAM strategy and supporting the access strategy developed by payer marketing. We do this by focusing on key segments (Payer/PBM, Specialty Provider/GPO, and Specialty Pharmacy/Distribution) that are essential for access and success of our current portfolio and pipeline, and by partnering with marketing teams as they develop their access strategies. With the strength of our existing portfolio and breadth of our pipeline this is a very exciting time to join the Customer Segment Strategy team.

The Associate Director of US Customer Segment Strategy is responsible for the development of a Customer Segment focused strategy that meet the needs of our customers, address external business trends and supports the business objectives of our company. The person in this role will work collaboratively with brand/payer marketing teams and IAM leaders to ensure that our company's strategic business goals are well integrated with IAM’s mission of supporting broad patient access.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The functions of the person in this role will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for above-brand customer strategy & account management approach for the following segments: Specialty Providers/GPOs and Specialty Pharmacy/Distribution.

  • Leads the development of customer segment strategy, considering customer needs, evolving market dynamics, and alignment to our company business needs based on late-stage pipeline.

  • Regularly monitors the US market access and policy landscape and provides IAM and Brand Payer Marketing with timely updates on segment trends, customer point of view, and strategic implications.

  • Directs key analyses/projects to address strategic business questions, including management of timelines, budget, and vendor partnerships.

  • Serves as a thought leader in sharing insights and learnings about significant segment, landscape, and environmental changes with key stakeholders throughout the organization; exchanges ideas and information across business units and cross-functionally

  • Collaborates with IAM leaders of customer-facing teams to share insights on key customers and develop above-brand customer engagement strategies.

  • Drives strategic alignment across IAM and Brand teams; facilitates opportunities for IAM input into Brand Payer Marketing strategies and ensures cohesive execution of strategies by IAM teams.

  • Collaborates with Brand Payer Marketing teams and the IAM Key Account Management team (within Strategic Insights) to support account planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Required:  Bachelor's Degree

  • Preferred:  MBA

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Market Access, Marketing, Key Account Management, or other related functions

  • Working knowledge of key US integrated customer segments (payer, channel, and provider); understanding of underlying trends in healthcare reimbursement, payment, and coverage in the US, including knowledge of rules and regulations

  • Strong strategic acumen; demonstrated ability to solve problems with limited information and to operate effectively in unstructured “white space” environments

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the drivers, strategy and business models of key US integrated customers (payer, channel, provider), including financial considerations, reimbursement dollar flow, and/or data environment relating to medicines

  • Experience in the commercialization of specialty drugs and biologics, e.g., launch planning, market access strategies, and/or customer engagement

  • Proven ability to drive innovation and change with stakeholder alignment

  • Experience in account management and contracting, including contract management, execution, and performance evaluation

Hybrid Work Model:

  • Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, Monday
  • Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.

The salary range for this role is

$142,400.00 - $224,100.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
