Job Description:

We are seeking new colleagues to drive the design and delivery of advanced AI solutions across our Central AI Organization (APEX CAIO). This is an individual contributor role focused on strong technical execution, collaboration, and hands‑on development of enterprise‑grade AI products.

Our AI Engineering team is responsible for developing central products and services being reused across entire enterprise while shaping analytic and AI capabilities across the company. You will work alongside AI engineers, data scientists, product managers, and domain experts to build reliable, scalable AI systems and help elevate the organization’s AI literacy and adoption.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, learning new AI technologies, and contributing to cross‑functional projects without direct people‑management responsibilities.

What Will You Do?

Technical Impact & Execution:

• Implement and improve AI systems, including generative AI and RAG‑based components

• Own well‑defined development tasks within larger AI workstreams

• Write high‑quality, maintainable code and follow engineering best practices

• Integrate language models, vector databases, retrieval components, and evaluation tools under guidance from senior engineers

• Contribute to model optimization for performance, reliability, and responsible AI use

• Participate in experimentation and iteration of RAG pipelines, prompt strategies, and model‑driven workflows

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work with senior engineers, data scientists, platform teams, and SMEs to understand requirements and implement AI solutions

• Communicate technical progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly within the team

• Support adoption of AI products by collaborating with business and technical stakeholders

Thought Leadership & Strategy Contribution:

• Contribute to improving engineering maturity by sharing learnings and good practices

• Provide input into development of AI engineering patterns and operational guidelines

• Stay informed about emerging AI technologies and bring forward relevant ideas

• Help promote good observability, MLOps, and lifecycle management practices across AI systems

Ways of Working:

• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and planning activities

• Provide input into technical prioritization and sprint planning

• Maintain strong standards of documentation, testing, and monitoring for AI components

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline

• relevant experience in software/AI engineering

• Experience contributing to production-grade AI or ML systems

Technical Expertise:

• Solid Python skills and experience building AI/ML pipelines

• Experience implementing AI solutions using cloud services, data pipelines, databases, APIs, and modern engineering tooling

• Hands-on exposure to RAG systems, LLMs, vector databases, prompt engineering, or generative AI applications

• Understanding of ML fundamentals (deep learning, optimization, evaluation, monitoring)

• Experience with CI/CD, testing practices, or MLOps concepts

• Ability to build and integrate RESTful APIs for AI-driven services

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers

• Work experience in Agile environments

• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools

• Familiarity with prompt optimization or evaluation frameworks for generative AI
