  • We are looking for an experienced and accomplished professional to join our team as a Principal Financial Analyst
  • Portfolio, Finance & Operations. This role is perfect for a recognized expert who excels at managing complex projects, providing impactful financial solutions, and shaping the strategic direction of the organization. As a Principal Financial Analyst, you will take ownership of financial modeling, analysis, and planning to enable data-driven decision-making and drive organizational success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide cost optimization strategy across OPC, GOSC burden, tariffs, SOGL, freight, duties, and product support to drive sustainable gross margin expansion, partnering with lead portfolio Operations
  • Partner with OU and GOSC finance and operations leaders (with dotted-line oversight) to deliver granular cost transparency, identify reduction opportunities, and execute margin improvement programs
  • Own gross margin driver analysis across the strategic planning horizon, including monthly plan vs. actual variance analysis and forecasting of savings realization, including Pricing and Mix, partnering with OUs to drive GM improvement
  • Lead financial performance analysis of top manufacturing sites and develop site-level cost reduction initiatives with operations leadership
  • Drive inventory and working capital optimization, including unhealthy inventory actions and transportation mode-shift business cases
  • Provide executive-level reporting, recommendations, and governance to ensure cost savings translate into realized financial results
  • Develop, maintain, and establish operational specifications for financial information systems, considering factors such as information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, and analysis
  • Lead and manage projects, ensuring successful implementation while adhering to organizational policies and standards

Required Qualifications

  • Mastery of financial analysis and modeling, with full knowledge of industry practices
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, OR Advanced degree with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven ability to manage large projects or processes independently
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop solutions to moderately complex problems and improve processes, systems, or products
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing decision-making and representing the organization with internal and external stakeholders
  • Leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and managing the work of other professionals

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Experience with business development analysis and performance monitoring
  • Ability to implement innovative solutions to enhance operational performance
  • Skilled in creating impactful financial reports and recommendations

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $108,000.00 - $162,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
