A Day in the Life

Switzerland is an important location for Medtronic. In addition to being the headquarters for the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) and the sales organization Medtronic (Switzerland) SA, it also hosts the European training center. Switzerland is also a significant production site—one out of every seven pacemakers implanted worldwide was produced by Medtronic in Switzerland. Medtronic employs over 1,000 people in Switzerland, spread across various sites.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Tests, calibrates, adjusts, and maintains electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments
  • Sets up calibration and maintenance sequences, methods and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair on equipment
  • Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions
  • Execute qualifications on equipment and technology under Sterility Assurance Team (FAT, SAT, IQ, etc..)
  • Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs
  • Coordination of internal qualification testing based on project demand.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum Federal Degree in technical expertise
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • French and English
  • Ideally, experience in equipment qualification
  • Good communication skills and coordination
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage priorities according to the needs of the organization
  • Proven writing ability of quality documents
  • Proven ability to develop innovative technical solutions on a wide range of problems in line with the organization's objectives and quality system requirements
  • Have a proactive and preventive approach by carrying out continuous improvement projects in sterility assurance team
  • Have organizational skills to best carry out project activities or routines.
