A Day in the Life<Careers that Change Lives>

As Senior Digital and Social Media Specialist within the Medtronic Multichannel Marketing function in Japan, you will play a vital role in implementing marketing strategies, marketing campaigns and digital activations that engage healthcare professionals and elevate Medtronic’s innovative products and services. In this dynamic and collaborative role, you will collaborate with operational units and cross-functional teams to brainstorm, strategize, develop and execute multichannel marketing campaign utilizing your expertise website development, email marketing, social media platforms and analytics. Your efforts will contribute to the promotion and success of Medtronic products and services in a highly regulated and competitive industry. As a key and highly visible member of the team, you will report directly to the Communications Manager, helping to shape how we connect with our audiences and drive meaningful business outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Strategy Consultation: Collaborate with the marketing team of operation unit to create and execute comprehensive multichannel marketing strategies and campaigns tailored to targeted healthcare professionals and patients/consumers. Ensure alignment with overall marketing goals, company objectives and targeted outcomes.
  • Multichannel Campaigns Planning and Execution: End to end multichannel marketing campaigns management targeting HCPs and patients/consumers, utilizing channels not limited to email website, marketing, social media, print materials etc.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Monitor, analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, providing clear statistics/data and insights drawing and recommendations for optimization.
  • Channel Management: Manage Medtronic’s digital platforms, optimizing content and engagement strategies to maximize reach and effectiveness.
  • Content Optimization: Work with internal teams and external vendors to share and implement best practices for optimizing content across channels.
  • Performance Optimization Support: Track content usage, gather insights from local execution, and support optimization efforts to improve performance and engagement.
  • Collaboration: Partner with operational units, cross-functional teams, and external agencies to brainstorm and execute digital strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Platform and Workflow Management: Help maintain organizational tools and platforms (e.g., Workfront) to efficiently manage assets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to industry regulations, company policies, and local market requirements.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing, social media, and healthcare communications to drive continuous improvement.

<Must Haves>

  • 4 years of relevant experience in marketing communications, digital marketing, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • Experience in developing campaign strategies and conducting analysis for generating marketing qualified leads through digital marketing, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in managing website content management systems, social media platforms, and email marketing tools, with preferred experience in Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Analytics, Marketing Cloud, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Project Management experience including managing stakeholder relationships, project timelines and budgets
  • A team-first mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Native-level Japanese required
  • Business English required (level to discuss in calls)

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong writing and content creation skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Experience in creative design
  • Ability to stay updated on industry trends and healthcare developments
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in the healthcare industry
  • Proficiency in using marketing tools and software for campaign planning, execution, and analysis.
