A Day in the Life

And we’re driven by our Mission to alleviate pain, restore health and extend life for millions of people worldwide.A Manufacturing Supervisor oversees daily operations on the production floor, ensuring that manufacturing processes run efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards. Responsibilities include managing and coaching production staff, coordinating workflow, monitoring equipment and materials, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor ensures compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and production schedules while maintaining high standards of product quality and employee performance.
3rd shift

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.

  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.

  • Plans and administers procedures and budgets.

  • Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.

  • Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.

  • Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.

  • Management Skills: Management of Financial and Material Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Management of Personnel Resources, Collaboration and Productivity Software, Effective Communication Skills.

  • Functional Skills: Machining and Manufacturing Technologies, Proficient computer skills, Data Science and Analysis, Lean Manufacturing and continued improvement, Managing Quality.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
Requires 2+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications for Machining Supervisor

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field

Leadership & People Management

  • Prior supervisory experience 2 years plus or team‑lead experience in a machining or manufacturing environment 8 years plus
  • Experience managing cross‑functional teams or multi-shift operations
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and conflict‑resolution skills
  • Ability to drive culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Quality & Compliance

  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) or data‑driven quality tools
  • Understanding of root-cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA)

Systems & Software

  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, basic formulas)

Operational Excellence

  • Proven track record reducing scrap, improving uptime, or increasing throughput
  • Experience leading CI projects (Lean, Six Sigma certification is a plus)

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
  • Analytical problem-solving mindset
  • Strong time‑management and prioritization abilities
