A Day in the Life

The individual will work closely with the cross-functional project teams in MEIC and GBUs. Individual will lead Medium to high complexity breakthrough Software development projects through existing products improvements or new features implementation. This position combines the strategic oversight of program. Also, will play a vital role in growing R&D business engagements & enabling value addition through process improvements and adopting best practices.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Acts as a liaison between operating units and global teams, driving strategic plan , process standardization, continuous improvement, and simplification initiatives. Partner with OU & BU leaders to co-create roadmap and AOP.
  • Leads and manages software development teams, project management methodologies to ensure structured and sequential project execution.
  • Manages the software development lifecycle, from concept through testing and deployment,  compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Strong (technical) understanding of SW deliverables and risk management / risk mitigation
  • Act as the leader of the project team, driving end-to-end execution and accountability.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project and engagement plans, including detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Remove systemic impediments and provide guidance on escalation processes to avoid blockers.
  • Foster a transparent, collaborative, and results-oriented team culture that promotes ownership and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with design control and quality system requirements.
  • Define project resource needs and coordinate assignments in collaboration with functional managers.
  • Plan, track, and communicate project progress, risks, and changes to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Develop and maintain risk mitigation plans to ensure the timely delivery of business objectives.
  • Challenge functional teams to meet or exceed project goals and delivery commitments.
  • Prepare audience-specific reports and communications.
  • Effective planning and organization skills, including the proven ability to work against multiple objectives simultaneously. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial goals are met or exceeded. Track and report financial performance, including cost forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Partner with finance teams to monitor and manage financial spending and ensure project resources are utilized efficiently to meet financial objectives.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related Engineering field.
  • PMP certification & Certified Scrum Master.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with 5 years in a project leadership role.
  • Project management skills, including experience with both Agile and Traditional/Waterfall methodologies (must-have).
  • Track record of managing projects to schedule, Budget and scope.
  • Good to have project experience in an enterprise software development project / mobile application.
  • Familiarity with FDA Quality System Regulations (820.30 design controls), European Regulatory Requirements (ISO 13485), and specifically IEC-62304.
  • Knowledge about burn down and burnup metrics, velocity, and user stories etc.
  •  Proficiency in using Project Management tools, including Microsoft Project (must-have), Visio, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influence management skills, including evidence of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to effectively handle conflict through proactive action, and direct and timely communication.
  • Experience in managing teams with a diverse cultural background.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ensure that the Project Design History File is current and accurate and manages documentation and communication needs for the project, ensuring all regulatory standards are met (e.g. project Share Point).
  • Support Core Team meetings by preparing the agenda, project updates, and taking meeting minutes.
  • Effective planning and organization skills including the proven ability to work against multiple objectives simultaneously.
  • Prepare audience specific reports and communications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
