About us
Innovation Products is a capability within the Consulting & Digital Labs product organisation. The team supports our customers with digital innovation/labs, strategy & transformation and digital assets & blockchain consulting solutions. The flagship Innovation products are customer centric and deliver a range of innovation solutions that have been tailored to solve complex business challenges for our customers. The product team supports customers across their entire innovation journey with a focus on:
- Design Thinking & UX Design Consulting (Launchpads, Sparks , UX/UI diagnostics/design)
- Digital Strategy & Transformation Consulting on specific topics: digital wallets, bank of the future strategy & design (digital first, neobanks, super Apps, emerging tech), digital operating model design, sustainability & inclusion
- Digital Assets & Blockchain Consulting – Digital Asset advisory (Stablecoins, crypto & crypto cards, CBDC, other digital currencies, tokenized deposits, real world assets etc
The Role:
- This Global VP role will lead the Digital Assets & Blockchain Consulting portfolio. The role holder will be responsible for refining existing consulting products and shaping new consulting products that solve customer challenges as it relates to digital assets with a strategic focus on stablecoin.
- The role holder will support B&MI revenue objectives and ambition to build repeatable, scalable products which can be delivered at efficient margins.
- This is a multifaceted role and requires extensive senior stakeholder engagement of both internal and external key customers. It requires a confident, experienced leader with a deep understanding and experience of commercial blockchain technology, stablecoin, digital currencies, crypto, real world assets (RWA), DEFI, CBDCs and tokenized deposits
- Strong global experience in digital assets & stablecoin strategy, design and product development
- Operational & Commercial experience of working with a VASP (Virtual Asset Service Provider) either as an operator or senior -level management consultant with a focus payments use cases.
- Deep understanding of current and future stablecoin regulations and their commercial implications for both traditional Fis and VASPs (GENIUS Act, MiCA, VARA guidelines etc)
- Practical experience of stablecoin products, regulation and use cases across multiple segments (e.g. treasury management, B2B, cross-border payments & remittances)
- The individual will also be adept at driving the “big picture” of building end to end digital asset & stablecoin solutions across the overall B&MI organisation in a collaborative and “One Mastercard” mindset
- The role holder must be client-focused with a revenue/sales enablement mindset when positioning products within the organisation. The role requires creativity and idea generation that can also deliver revenue returns for Mastercard and our customers.
The individual needs to form close trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders – including the blockchain & digital assets core product team & commercialization teams, regional services product leads, practice leads, Advisors Client Services, Customer Solutions Centre leads, country teams and services sales leads. Other key stakeholders include finance, legal, franchise, compliance and administration functions.
The role may also require support of sales teams in client sessions and attendance of product delivery sessions/workshops with key clients, especially in the capacity of shaping product growth opportunities.
Expectations:
- Product & revenue enablement focus
- Support the global product and go-to-market narrative for Digital Assets, Stablecoin & Blockchain consulting products (sales material, pricing, case studies etc)
- The role owner will be point of contact for key regions/clusters and will support sales enablement efforts in those regions/clusters from a product perspective
- Evangelist of the Digital Assets, Stablecoin & Blockchain product portfolio benefits and value proposition
- Pipeline monitoring across regions to ensure sufficient runway to support revenue targets
- Play a role in shaping major RFP responses from a product perspective
- Knowledge management and retention of product material and funding model information with an objective to standardise and globalise
- Support “product bundling” efforts where input from Consulting/B&MI will be required in building a solutions bundle
- Ad-hoc responses and guidance on requests related to the product opportunities, pricing, features etc requested by regional products/sales/delivery leads
- Lead matrixed teams with multi-faceted skills sets and different motivations/ agendas to create new product innovations.
- Stay informed on Digital Assets, Stablecoin & Blockchain topics across verticals and identify potential opportunities to develop relevant products
All About You:
- Must be passionate and knowledgeable about Digital Assets, Stablecoin & Blockchain product development/management. Keen to work across Mastercard to support some of the world’s biggest brands in shaping digital asset/stablecoin and blockchain opportunities
- Must be ready and able to partner with delivery and sales teams (to ensure that products are easy to sell and deliver)
- Demonstrate awareness of Mastercard's broader product offerings and the ability to leverage products from other business areas to augment digital assets, stablecoin & blockchain product capabilities
- Drive institutionalized knowledge through the use of consistent product documentation (e.g., sales material and playbooks)
- Demonstrate experience in product development for digital assets, stablecoin & Blockchain solutions
- High energy, can-do attitude, very strong sense of ownership and desire to succeed with commensurate analytical and strategic skills.
- Executive-level presence and presentation skills—must have persuasive “presence” and ability to effectively across the business
- Organized, with an ability to provide consultative skills in environments where there may be ambiguity in the overall direction that the solution needs to follow
- Leadership skills—must be able to influence others and navigate complex relationship scenarios & must be able to influence others without direct reporting relationships.
- Payments technology knowledge or experience in the payments industry is an advantage
- Management consulting experience at manager level and above is a distinct advantage
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- A strong team player with a collegiate and collaborative mindset

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
