  • Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) support developers during the build phase by applying software run principles such as operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring. They focus on creating fault-tolerant, scalable products and lead triage and root cause analysis through blameless post-mortems.
  • Service Management Reliability Engineers (SMREs) develop documentation, analyze and improve processes, and drive service management strategies. They enable proactive lifecycle engagement, ensure tool reliability and service level objectives, and implement automated solutions. SMREs also support compliance and often serve in federated roles like change, incident, or problem managers, communication leads, and program managers.
