• Senior Python Developer
• Python, Django & Angular/React

Overview:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Mastercard, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Python and Django. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to front-end development using modern frameworks like Angular or React. This role requires strong technical leadership, mentoring capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to work across global teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and Django frameworks.

• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices aligned with Mastercard's architecture standards.

• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements using Angular, React, or similar frameworks.

• Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to secure coding practices.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.

• Drive CI/CD adoption and automate deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.

• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or Cloud Foundry.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• All About You

• 6-9 years of overall career experience

• Understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies

• Extensive experience developing secure, web-based applications in Python and Django frameworks

• Experience with front-end technologies such as Angular, React, HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript is a plus.

• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development.

• Experience of cloud deployment patterns, tools, and operational best practices (e.g. Cloud Foundry, Dynatrace, Splunk)

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• High-energy, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to handle multiple high-priority demands while driving consistent results.

• Collaborative, communicative and engaged with team discussions, asking questions, mentoring juniors, and raising standards.
