The Mastercard Cross Border Services program (part of the Product and Engineering) team is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager. The candidate will be responsible for driving initiatives level projects across multiple teams and managing complex dependencies within Mastercard. The candidate will also be responsible for driving projects from the planning phase through production deployment and customer onboarding, ensuring necessary run operations are in place with a strong emphasis on program governance and reporting, using agile (scrum) and SAFe methodologies.
The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.
ROLE:
- Drive and champion transformational change in our end-to-end product delivery process, utilizing agile development methodologies.
- Operate autonomously and provide clarity in situations where business strategies are undefined.
- Possess a deep understanding of the business domain, systems, and products within your realm, including their accountabilities, boundaries, limitations, and scalability factors.
- Comprehend the rationale behind architectural decisions.
- Apply technical program management and engineering best practices to delivery, utilizing various agile and blended approaches and effectively coordinating implementations across diverse methodologies.
- Identify and prevent recurring failure patterns, guiding teams to avoid previous mistakes.
- Excel in scrum delivery methodologies.
- Lead and nurture a team of Technical Program Managers/Engineers, establishing the groundwork for the TPM practice.
- Exhibit high emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and empathy towards teams and partners.
- Operate autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrating critical thinking and thought leadership.
- Spearhead the development of large-scale enterprise technical programs and products from inception to delivery, showcasing impact through metrics, growth examples, and returns.
- Excel in problem decomposition, work organization, sprint planning, and thrive in deadline-driven environments with attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
- Possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills, effectively guiding and influencing Business Owners and Development Teams.
- Establish and nurture relationships, collaborate with, and influence dependent teams while earning the respect of individuals across the organization.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in solving software engineering challenges, effectively communicating with engineers, and guiding them toward optimal solutions.
- Apply technical program management and engineering best practices to delivery, coordinating implementations across various methodologies.
- Forge organizational relationships, collaborate with, and influence executive leadership, earning respect from individual engineers across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, organize, and optimize work processes, ensuring performance improvements and resource efficiency throughout execution.
- Operate autonomously, addressing ambiguous areas with urgency, bridging gaps between regions and teams, and managing escalations effectively.
- Manage portfolios by aligning teams, technologies, and organizations, resolving conflicts, and facilitating consensus-building.
- Communicate complex issues clearly, provide insights, and lead discussions to drive timely decisions.
- Embrace ambiguity, simplify processes, and share best practices to drive organizational improvements.
- Collaborate with external partners to enhance implementation plans and contribute to community knowledge sharing.
- Maintain focus on execution, foster cross-team collaboration, and ensure accountability for results.
- Manage project plans, accelerate delivery, and remove blockers in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Establish effective reporting mechanisms, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvements.
- Drive execution from inception to successful delivery, ensuring clear communication and risk mitigation.
- Act as a primary point of contact, providing accurate updates and representing team services effectively.
- Stay updated on technology trends, evaluate designs, and influence organizational roadmaps.
