Overview:
An exciting opportunity is available to join the Payments Assurance Team within the Treasury Department at Mastercard Europe as a Senior Analyst based in Warsaw, Poland.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely settlement operations, including monitoring cash positions, managing liquidity, resolving aged items, and coordinating financial adjustments. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to support risk mitigation, improve collections, and drive process improvements.

- Key Responsibilities
- Manage liquidity across international currency accounts and support daily cash operations, including resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely fund availability.
- Monitor and report daily settlement bank balances to ensure accurate visibility of Mastercard's cash positions by reconciliation of expected vs. actual balances and escalate variances as needed.
- Oversee journal entries and manage internal fund movements to ensure accurate financial settlement.
- Investigate aged and unresolved settlement positions, identifying root causes and driving resolution.
- Analyze customer liabilities and waivers, ensure documentation and reporting of approvals, and coordinate with accounting to clear aged and bad debt balances through journal entries and reclassifications.
- Maintain monthly Settlement Assessments Billing and ensure alignment with Mastercard accounting policies.
- Improve cash collections and minimize credit risk by identifying process gaps and leading improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to process improvement and problem-solving initiatives across the team.
- Assist with additional tasks as and when required.

- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Experience in accounting, audit, controllership, or financial reporting
- Proven background in cash management and liquidity oversight
- Exposure to fail management processes and settlement issue resolution
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Curious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Fluency in English required; Polish is a plus
