All About the Role Make an Impact as a Payments Product Owner for one of Mastercard's clients.
The Payments Product Owner is an execution-oriented client-facing role that applies proven product management skills and domain experience to partner with clients and help them drive measurable value through one or more of the following:
- Developing new payment products and strategies and ensuring smooth and efficient delivery to market.
- Strengthening client's internal skills, knowledge, and experience in critical areas.
- Successfully implementing complex payment technology assets and delivering the most challenging transformation programs to create the new business as usual.
- Transforming client payment processes and optimising their management practices.As a Payments Product Owner embedded at a client, you will be responsible for a portfolio of payment projects that support a strategy, a strategic change, or initiative with significant impact on the organisation.
Through this role, you will manage complexity and inherent risks across a wide range of business areas, where there are strong interdependencies and shared resources, and you will manage benefits from their initial identification and definition through to realisation.

Skillset The ideal candidate possesses most of the following:
-
Proven experience in the delivery of large digital enterprise-level payment programs across the financial services sector from initiation to benefit realisation, employing Agile principles.
-
Successful leadership of product management teams across different clients/businesses, identifying and mitigating risks, solving issues, developing plans, and ensuring they are implemented in line with agreed timescales, budgets, and quality criteria; including examples of re-aligning scope and objectives during a program to maximise value.

Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams across large multi-faceted project teams.

Able to use own initiative, develop solutions, or adapt approaches to support the delivery of defined objectives and benefits.

Strong risk management mindset, ability to pivot your approach and strategy with the changing needs of the client and/or our business and multi-task in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

Think 'Out of the Box' and able to challenge the status quo with supporting analysis.

Technical understanding and ability to allocate and manage IT resources effectively. Ensuring that project teams have the necessary skills and tools to complete their tasks.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Identify and communicate new business opportunities to internal stakeholders and contribute to proposals.

All About You
-
Experience & Education• 7+ years of experience in the financial services sector, with a proven track record of delivering successful payment projects.
-
Demonstrable exposure in payments and/or retail banking and/or cards domains. Proven thought leadership preferred.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification. Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
-
Proven knowledge and experience in Agile and Waterfall project management including development methodologies, able to manage complex projects in the financial services industry.

Experience in initiating, steering, and overseeing business and/or technology projects to optimise, grow, and protect your business.
-
Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
-
Willingness to travel.
