The Product Development team for Checkout Solutions is seeking a Manager, Product Development to help bring Mastercard’s flagship agentic commerce product—Mastercard Agent Pay—from concept to market and scale. This Lisbon-based role is ideal for someone passionate about building innovative payment solutions, collaborating across global teams, and driving product excellence.
Role Overview:
As Manager, Product Development, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of Mastercard’s agentic commerce product suite. You’ll work closely with engineering, design, and business teams to ensure Mastercard Agent Pay meets customer needs and scales effectively across markets.

Key Responsibilities

Lead product development lifecycle from concept through pilot, launch, and scale

Collaborate with engineering and design teams to define technical requirements and user experience

Translate strategic goals into actionable development plans and product features
-
Partner with AI firms, agentic providers, startups, issuers, wallets, merchants, and PSPs to gather feedback and refine product direction
-
Define and track product KPIs, performance metrics, and customer adoption
-
Support go-to-market planning and regional rollout strategies
-
Ensure product-market fit through iterative development and customer validation
-
Drive connections between adjacent products and features to create cohesive experiences

All About You
-
Experience in product development or technical product management, ideally in payments or fintech
-
Strong understanding of digital wallets, tokenization, authentication, and consumer payments
-
Familiarity with Mastercard’s ecosystem: issuers, acquirers, PSPs, merchants, and wallet operators
-
Technical fluency and ability to collaborate with engineering teams
-
Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience with executive stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
-
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or technical background a plus
