Senior Vice President, CONNECT Ecosystem
OVERVIEW:
Connect and the Connect Ecosystems teams provide the suite of products and services that enable our single front door for our B2B customers through Connect (our B2B web interface), our front-end framework teams, our fine-grained user provisioning teams, and our customer and asset platforms. This program and group are responsible for driving unification and simplification across our Mastercard teams, providing tools and solutions for all product and engineering teams across our B2B ecosystem. This role requires a big picture thinker who is able to see opportunities to drive productive synergies across our teams (those who report into this role and others across Mastercard). We are an agile development organization with teams distributed globally across technology hubs in the US, India, and Ireland.
The Senior Vice President Software Development Engineering provides both strategic and tactical leadership to Mastercard global development teams focused on the development of applications that proved solutions to our global customers and internal engineering teams. You will lead a team of engineering professionals to build, enhance, launch, and manage a portfolio of technical solutions that provide the necessary tools to build our unified experiences. You need to have a demonstrated ability to hire and develop high-performance software development organizations. Our systems are designed to be highly scalable, low latency, highly available in order to meet our customer needs. This role is a technical role who can drive things by working with leaders across the organization as well as dig deeper into solutions when needed. The candidate must be able to navigate and successfully build relationships across the organization, understand our current capabilities, align teams to common goals, and execute on the strategies to drive value for Mastercard.
ROLE:
- End-to-end technical leader who brings considerable experience designing and implementing solutions using a broad range of technologies.
- Provides strategic thinking and leadership related to a wide range of applications and systems, or software-development methodologies
- Build and lead multiple high performance, highly cohesive engineering teams
- Partner closely with product management to define the roadmaps, develop and deliver on new services to address market and cutomer needs
- Talent leadership: coach team members to their maximum potential by providing objective and actionable career guidance and opportunities; identify talent gaps; recruit and retain high quality technology talent
- Establish regular reporting, progress against goals, tracking of KPIs and various metrics to share with senior leadership and business unit executives
- Drive change across processes, practices, and technology within the organization by building and maintaining a high caliber team that can deliver effectively and be a role model for the rest of the organization

- Outcome driven; comfortable setting measurable, data informed objectives and holding teams accountable
- Has skills to evaluate practices, metrics, and roles to continually optimize SDLC methodologies and automate processes to improve lead time and quality
- Leading in a matrixed environment across an enterprise is a bug plus
- Skilled at the business side of technology (e.g. managing to a budget, organizational design, recruiting, and partnering with supporting lines of business - finance, HR, legal, other groups - as necessary)
- Strong strategic skills along with demonstrated success in influencing senior leadership, provides recommendations and opinions.
- Willing and able to challenge established views and assumptions at all levels and drive change
- Ability to drive consistent and repeatable results
