Title and Summary

Vice President, Platform Architecture

Overview:

Responsible for teams/talent that provides technical program delivery and thought leadership for assigned areas of the organization, build and cultivate strong internal and external customer relationships to establish engagement models for the team, to ensure delivery is in alignment with expectations

Expert with cross-functional collaboration to evolve and deliver synergies across Commercial and New Payment Flows (CNPF). Partner to oversee both strategy and technology and conduct proactive analyses to drive tech strategic improvements to drive business impact and optimization and reliability.

Role

Responsible for leading/consulting with application leadership to improve craftmanship of products and drive alignment with architectural standards, security compliance and business strategy

Leads integration with multiple teams/business factors to deliver on competing strategies that promote transformational approaches in growing the business and deliver superior solutions at Mastercard

  • Consultant and Pro-Active Advisor
  • Acts as a trusted advisor for executive leadership and designated program groups to partner with other leaders and experts to anticipate, address, and resolve multi-faceted business delivery and serve as escalation point for infrastructure needs

Builds & Leverages partners to identifies and develop new influential partnerships with high strategic value, builds consensus with partners to adopt platform standards, compliance and new and existing business operations and opportunities

Oversees process development improvement initiatives, identifying efficiencies and opportunities for automation and/or reduction in time to deployment

Performs financial planning, forecasting, and budget tracking to reduce total cost of ownership and allocate resources efficiently

Sets functional strategy, goals, and objectives, and establishes KPIs and metrics for measuring performance in support of the overall IT strategy

Leader of leaders across multiple teams. Reinforces leadership accountability, culture and talent readiness in support of the overarching strategy while strengthening our people practices (development, retention, and practicing fair and equitable processes in all people decisions (i.e. recruitment, promotions, recognition, performance management).

Fostering a work environment that allows teams to openly share ideas, take risks and make mistakes without fear and providing in-the-moment feedback and coaching to enhance team performance, by supporting team members in owning their careers, continuous growth through projects, mentorship, volunteering and or stretch assignment

All About You:

15+ years of leading people in culture creation (e.g., articulating values, leading by example, hiring cultural fit, creating traditions like recognitions, team building, etc.)

10+ years of experience leading and delivering enterprise IT initiatives and projects

Demonstrated ability to perform the adaptive leadership skills to empower self-organization, innovation and ownership in support of high performing/impact talent

Lead and enhance global teams and highly performing resources, proven and referenceable track record of leading and driving large initiatives to success

Experienced change agent that drives change through metrics, KPI insights and experience

Proven track record of leading delivery and implementation teams through highly visible complex implementation and development

Excellent communication skills with distinction in driving discussions with executives as a strategic partner who can translate business problems into solutions

Affinity for collaboration, demonstrated ability to collaborate with peers across internal business organizations

Proven ability to influence across the business to deliver objectives and drive business strategy

Advanced understanding of program management, software development (SDLC) practices and a strong understanding of agile methodologies and lifecycles

Strong understanding of the importance of stakeholder and communication leadership

Demonstrated skill and experience in conducting executive, difficult and critical conversations

Evidence of successfully leading complex, cross-functional platform system delivery initiatives
