Overview

This segment is central to Mastercard's growth strategy - not only because of their global impact but also because of SMEs' significant role in the payment ecosystem as both payers and acceptors of electronic payments. We are seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Product Management to lead the development and ownership of our Business Essential Services (BES) domain. You will play a crucial role in defining and delivering core functionalities that underpin our customers' day-to-day operations. This includes building and refining essential services like payments, invoicing, security, scheduling, and other critical capabilities that empower our users to succeed. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the foundation of our platform and drive efficiency, security, and growth for our business and customers alike.
Responsibilities
- Define the product vision and roadmap for the BES domain, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and customer needs.
- Conduct in-depth market research and user analysis to identify opportunities for enhancing existing BES features and introducing new functionalities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, security, customer success) to design, develop, and launch new BES products and features.
- Own the user experience for all BES functionalities, ensuring intuitive and seamless workflows for users across diverse business needs.
- Develop and implement robust security protocols and compliance measures for the BES domain.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact and effectiveness of BES offerings.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to effectively communicate the value proposition of BES services to potential and existing customers.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies in the payment processing, invoicing, security, and other critical capability landscapes.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality BES products within deadlines and budget constraints.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in product management.
- Proven track record of successfully building and launching business-critical products and platforms.
- Deep understanding of core business essential services, including payments, invoicing, security, and scheduling systems.
- Strong technical acumen and experience working with modern software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps).
- Experience in security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinking and business acumen.
Additional Information
- This role is hybrid, with the expectation of working in the Pune, India office at least 3 days per week.
