Overview
Mastercard Digital Platforms is part of Mastercard Core Products and provides a set of innovative digital payment all use cases (pay with card on file, pay as a guest, pay with card in wallet) and the authentication solutions. Mastercard enables issuers, acceptance and digital partners to offer their customers a consistent and secure checkout experience across devices, browsers, and merchants starting from advanced authentication. Mastercard solutions provide a seamless user experience in few clicks, protected by network tokenisation and authentication standards, maximising online checkout convenience and security.
Organisation
As a part of the Digital Platforms team, the Authentication Market Product team is responsible for managing the market deployment of cardholder identity verification and authentication products including Mastercard Identity Check, Mastercard Passkeys and Mastercard Token Authentication Framework. The Manager will support our authentication deployment efforts support Go-to-Market activities on authentication across the following markets: Romania, Bulgaria, Israel, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North-Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, and Montenegro, with a strong focus on the (upcoming) regulatory requirement for increased usage of Strong Customer Authentication in Serbia, North-Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro. The Manager will also support customer conversations across all authentication solutions with a sharp focus to drive scale, usage and optimisation of the services, whilst growing associated product revenues. The Manager will report into the Vice Present leading authentication for Europe based in Amsterdam, and with a dual reporting line into the Director who is part of Customer Solution Centre in Bucharest.
Responsibilities
- Drives all customer support activities on Identity Check programme, including optimisation and growth initiatives; develops scalable customer engagement approach and customer deliverables to support growth and optimisation initiatives; captures customer and CSC feedback to consistently enhance customer engagements.
- Works closely with regional product owners to capture market insights to feed regional authentication product strategy across Identity Check programme, passkeys and Token Authentication Framework ("TAF") in partnership with Customer Solution Centre ("CSC") aligning with market needs.
- Leads deployment of passkeys for Click to Pay and Secure Card on File at market level, leading go-to-market efforts at local level in coordination with CSCs and regional product manager; builds and manages local pipeline of passkeys to accelerate pilots and transition to full commercialisation stage; supports local customers (issuers, PSPs, merchants, acquirers) on Mastercard Passkeys and TAF; delivers product workshops to customers.
- Works with CSCs to provide market-level/customer-level support on digital and authentication platforms and products.
- Demonstrates thought leadership through profound product and industry expertise representing Mastercard at relevant industry events.
Qualifications
- Profound industry expertise (focused on EMV 3DS, FIDO and biometric authentication, and digital payments overall), upcoming technologies, and authentication fraud trends. Strong knowledge of the payment industry and the competitive landscape.
- Deep understanding of the regulatory framework across Europe (PSD2, PSD3, PSR) and in Serbia, North-Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro in particular, and its impact on authentication solutions
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar function / role
- Clear understanding of the Digital space (e.g., Tokenisation, Click to Pay)
- Extensive customer facing experience: able to build trust and relationships with customers, manage customer expectations
- Effective communication: excellent in communicating complex ideas clearly and concisely through presentations, reports, and client interactions, ensuring clients fully understand the proposed solutions; outstanding presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution: proven skills in handling difficult conversations and finding mutually beneficial solutions to meet both customer goals and regional product goals
