Title and Summary
Director, Sales Specialist, Acceptance, Australasia
If you’re the kind of entrepreneur who thrives on building what’s next, this role puts you at the centre of Mastercard’s innovation engine across Australasia. You’ll shape the future of payment acceptance — introducing new technologies, expanding into untapped merchant segments, and accelerating the shift to digital payments across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
You’ll own the strategy, development, and commercialisation of new acceptance solutions, from spotting market opportunities to launching products at scale. This is a role for someone who loves the thrill of creating something new, moving fast, solving problems creatively, and turning big ideas into real world impact.
You’ll work across emerging technologies like Tap on Phone, softPOS, tokenised experiences, and new form factors, and you’ll champion Mastercard’s mission to give consumers and businesses secure, simple, and modern ways to pay.
What You’ll Do:
- Shape & Accelerate Market Strategy
- Build and execute the acceptance strategy for Australasia — with a strong focus on bill pay, recurring payments, and priority merchant segments.
- Identify new opportunities through customer insights, competitive analysis, and ecosystem trends.
- Remove barriers to growth, anticipate risks, and create clear commercialisation paths for new products.
Build Pipeline & Drive Adoption:
-
Co-own the sales pipeline with Acceptance Enablement and Customer Solutions Centre teams.
-
Work directly with customers, partners, merchants, and public sector entities to bring solutions to life.
-
Create compelling playbooks, value propositions, and narratives that help teams successfully sell and deploy Mastercard technologies.
-
Lead Cross Functional Innovation
-
Partner with product, engineering, platform teams, and market teams to deliver impactful solutions.
-
Represent Mastercard externally — from customer forums to industry events and elevate our position as a leader in acceptance innovation.
Drive Insight Led Decisions:
- Provide deep ecosystem and product expertise to identify gaps and influence product roadmaps.
- Define and track KPIs to measure adoption, performance, revenue contribution, and customer impact.
- Translate insights into actions that fuel future growth.
