Mastercard Prepaid Management Services (MPMS) delivers end-to-end prepaid card solutions across travel, transit, foreign exchange, gifting, and buy-now-pay-later segments. As a fintech enabler, MPMS operates a scalable, modular platform that supports a global portfolio of prepaid programmes, combining innovation with operational excellence.
Role Purpose:
The Manager, Product Development is responsible for driving the successful delivery of product roadmap initiatives from concept through to customer readiness, ensuring alignment with business objectives and value creation. Acting as a Product Owner within a SAFe Agile environment, the role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, ownership of the product backlog, and a strong focus on delivering high-quality platform capabilities. This position plays a key role in bridging technical execution and business outcomes, supporting the end-to-end software development lifecycle and product integration efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and evolve MPMS digital offerings in line with Mastercard’s objectives, customer needs, and market trends
- Partner with wallet providers and MDES to enable seamless, scalable, and secure digital payment capabilities
- Collaborate with regional teams, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders (Technology, MDES, Legal, Compliance, Fraud, Delivery, Sales) to drive product adoption and measurable value realization
- Translate market insights, customer feedback, and regional needs into clear product requirements and prioritized roadmap and backlog
- Act as a conduit between digital platforms and customer experience, ensuring solutions are intuitive, relevant, and differentiated
- Support go-to-market activities, including product positioning, launch readiness, and stakeholder enablement
- Track product performance, adoption metrics, and customer outcomes to inform continuous improvement
- Act as Product Owner for 2–3 Scrum teams, applying SAFe Agile practices and principles
- Lead the transition from Technical Readiness to Product Readiness, ensuring adherence to business processes and thorough due diligence
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Strong understanding of digital payments, wallets, tokenization, and platform-based products
- Proven experience in product development or product management, preferably within payments, fintech, or digital platforms
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, global environment with diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and execution
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without authority
- Experience translating complex technical concepts into clear, customer-focused value propositions
- Proficiency in SAFe/Agile software development lifecycle methodology
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience working with MDES, wallet ecosystems, or issuer/acquirer platforms
- Exposure to regional market differences and managing products at global scale with local relevance
- Familiarity with agile delivery models and iterative product development
- Experience supporting or leading product launches and go-to-market strategies
