Director, Account Management

Overview:

Mastercard Greece is looking for an Account Manager, Director to shape and drive the commercial strategy as well as become the focal point on the relationship with key financial institutions in Greece, Malta and Cyprus. The ideal candidate is a commercially savvy, results-driven professional who brings a blend of strategic thinking, customer obsession, and an entrepreneurial mindset. You should enjoy working in fast-paced environments, navigating complexity with ease, and are passionate about innovation.
Role
Become a strategic partner to clients, developing a deep understanding of their business models, priorities, and challenges to deliver tailored solutions that drive mutual growth.
Own the client relationship from A to Z, ensuring high-impact engagement, flawless delivery, and satisfaction -customer centricity is critical.
Drive sales targets and objectives by promoting the adoption of innovative products, services, and platforms.
Responsible for day-to-day account activities, including administrative and operational issues
Develop and execute account plans aligned with customer objectives and business strategy, ensuring revenue growth, market share, and customer success.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal teams (e.g. product, marketing, operations, legal) to develop integrated, client-focused solutions, ensure seamless execution and resolve issues frictionlessly.
Identify and pursue new opportunities, expanding Mastercard's footprint across existing and new lines of business.
Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics, translating insights into actionable strategies that position Mastercard as the partner of choice.
Leverage Mastercard's global assets and capabilities, including brand, technology, and data insights, to deliver differentiated value to clients.

All About You:

The ideal candidate for this position should have/be:
A degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or Law; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is not necessary, but will be considered a plus
Proven experience in strategic account management, business development, or consultative sales -ideally in payments, banking, fintech, or a technology-driven industry
Good understanding of the local payments landscape and broader financial services ecosystem
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret data, build business cases, and negotiate value-based solutions
Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Greek and English
Ability to operate with agility, drive alignment across teams, and execute with discipline
A collaborative, team-oriented mindset, and a passion for customer success
Entrepreneurial energy, resilience, and a drive to make an impact
