ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-
Coordinate the performance of echocardiogram tests to acquire crucial data about patients.

Coordinate the analysis of blood flow, valve function, and chamber size to determine the overall heart condition.

May assist physicians in diagnosing patients with heart conditions.

Accurately record patient data and test results.
-
Coordinate the handling of administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments or cleaning equipment.

May handle ultrasound equipment to record moving 2-D or 3-D images of the heart and its chambers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Conduct professional quality cardiac ultrasound examinations including M-MODE, 2D (real time), PW/CW DOPPLER, COLOR FLOW IMAGING, STRESS ECHOES, TRANSESOPHAGEAL, and CONTRAST ULTRASOUND studies.

Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, acquiring demographic information, clinical history, and correlating symptoms with findings.

Recognize abnormal pathology and demonstrate correlation of this information into a useful study.

Generate a permanent record of the examination on the digital PACS system and hardcopy.

Prepare an initial report for the Cardiologist to read.

Directly notify the cardiologist for issues requiring immediate attention.

Join the Cardiac Ultrasound team, contributing to all facets of providing services to patients and physicians.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Associates Degree

Required
-
Registered in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred.
-
Three to five years Cardiac ultrasound experience required with knowledge of
M-MODE,2-D, COLOR FLOW IMAGING and Doppler.
-Experience with transesophageal imaging preferred.
-Experience with stress echo preferred

We are currently hiring a full-time, 40-hour Cardiac Sonographer to work on site at 2014 Washington Street in Newton, Monday-Friday between 6:30 am and 4:30 pm! Our Cardiovascular Sonographers play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our cardiac patients.
