Job Summary
About the LEARN Program:
With the generous support of the American people through the United Stated Government, International Medical Corps (IMC) in collaboration with Mass General Brigham (MGB) and African Humanitarian Action (AHA) is implementing the five-year Local Engagement and Response Network (LEARN) initiative to enhance the United States' capacity to rapidly and effectively respond to emerging Infectious Disease (ID) threats worldwide. LEARN strengthens the operational readiness and multi-sector coordination of Local/National Non-Governmental Organizations (L/NNGOs) as frontline responders, enabling early identification, containment, and management of ID outbreaks with epidemic or pandemic potential.
About the position
Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Program Coordinator -Data Specialist will assist with all research coordination, data collection, management, and visualization aspects of the Principal Investigator’s projects. The candidate will work under general supervision from the PI and have direct contact and oversight with in-country research staff and partners. Principal duties may vary depending on the phases and nature of projects and will include: developing and maintaining data collection and management systems, develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for data collection and management, lead data collection training sessions, perform ongoing data cleaning and monitoring procedures, build interactive and visually engaging data monitoring dashboards, run preliminary data analyses, contribute to scientific literature, travel to international sites as requested, and assist with project graphic design needs. In this role, the successful candidate will additionally support administrative operations of the team, including monitoring project spending and tracking supply and service procurement.
This full-time position (40 hours per week) is grant-funded through Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Funding is available through September 30, 2026 with the possibility of extension through October 2029.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop SOPs for data collection, data management, and reporting procedures for the PI’s projects.
- Lead in-person and remote training sessions for data collection with project partners in the field.
- Perform ongoing data monitoring and cleaning for potential data errors or inconsistencies. Curate and relay requested incoming data in real-time to project staff, collaborators, and ministry partners. Work with country-level project coordinators to manage incoming data discrepancies in real-time.
- Build interactive and live data dashboards for monitoring and summarization of ongoing data collection projects.
- Perform basic statistical programming and preliminary analysis.
- Organize LEARN training with key partners
- Contribute to scientific literature, reports, journals and presentations.
- Assist with all graphic and product related design needs that arise from the PI’s projects.
- Directly supervise one research assistant; and future program staff as project needs may increase
- Draft quarterly/annual reports for donor and programmatic reports for stakeholders.
- In conjunction with program coordinator, track procurement and payments to ensure projects are executed according to timeline.
- Travel to project countries to support smooth project implementation and operations. Organize logistics, such as venues, lodging, conference space, travel for meetings, events, and workshops for the project team as needed. .
- Facilitate weekly meetings with LEARN Team and co-investigators.
- In collaboration with PIs, responsible for the communication and dissemination of program updates internally and externally.
- Other duties as assigned by the PI.
Qualifications
Required:
At least Bachelor's (Master’s degree preferred) in a related field including public health, international relations, or humanitarian studies; other areas will be considered. 2 years of related professional experience in research and program management. Competency in Statistical Package (SPSS, Stata, and/or R) Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Power BI or other database management and visualization tools, Dropbox, ClickUp, Kobo Toolbox or other mobile data collection tools, and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of relevant research methods and secure data management required Demonstrated computational skills, including fluency with basic statistical software Able to communicate effectively in English and French
Preferred:
Master’s degree preferred (international relations, public health, health care administration, business, education administration, science; other areas will be considered)
Familiarity with humanitarian aid, global health, or international development.
1–2 years of experience working an epidemiological research setting preferred.

Detail oriented and able to work in the absence of complete information
High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work both on a team and independently is required.
High degree of analytic ability to manage the financial aspects of the position. Familiarity and experience coordinating with financial and procurement departments such as supply chain management, accounts payable, and grants management.
Knowledge of and commitment to concepts and issues tied to social justice, gender sensitivity, diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as professional ethics.
