CRNA's at Foxborough typically work 10 hour weekday shifts with efficient case flow, experienced OR staff, and strong team support.
Brigham and Women’s Hospital is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join the anesthesia team at the Foxborough Surgery Center, a high-functioning ambulatory surgery center just south of Boston.
This position offers the opportunity to practice anesthesia in a well-run outpatient surgical environment while maintaining an exceptional work–life balance. The role features a predictable weekday schedule with no call, no nights, no weekends, and no holidays, making it an attractive alternative to traditional hospital-based anesthesia practice with convenient on-site free parking.
The center includes four operating rooms with fast turnovers and a focused ambulatory case mix. The majority of cases are orthopedic procedures, with additional urology, plastics, and straightforward general surgery. CRNA's practice within the anesthesia care team model, working alongside a collaborative group of anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and surgical technologists. CRNA’s in this position will be credentialled for both Foxboro and BWH main campus. Occasionally, when the Foxboro surgical center is closed CRNA’s may be asked to work a shift at the Brigham and Women’s main campus.
Job Summary:
A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is responsible for the pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative care of the patient requiring anesthesia for surgical, medical, therapeutic, or diagnostic procedures. This care includes, but is not limited to, pre-operative assessments, anesthetic care plans, assembly and care of specialized equipment; application, insertion and interpretation of data from anesthetic monitors; airway management; delivery of general, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthetic care; induction, maintenance, and emergence of the patient; care of the patient in the immediate post-operative setting; and post-operative assessments in collaboration with a physician member of the Department of Anesthesiology.
CRNAs also fulfill a teaching function for the Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists that rotate to the BWH from Northeastern University and Boston College for their clinical experience. Clinical research may be available as an adjunct for the CRNA who is interested in that area of practice, depending on protocols available, but it is not a department requirement, nor is it usually sponsored by the anesthesia department. All CRNAs must comply with federal, state, hospital, and departmental guidelines as they pertain to the delivery of anesthesia care at the Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Qualifications:
Education
Diploma Nursing required and Master's Degree Nurse Anesthesia Practitioner required
Licenses and Credentials Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist CRNA (NBCRNA) - National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) required
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Must have physical abilities and manual dexterity to function as an anesthesia care provider and have the ability to administer all types of anesthetics, using a variety of techniques.

The Mass General Brigham Healthcare Center at Patriot Place in Foxborough provides expanded access to world-class primary care and specialist services, including cardiology, dermatology, general and gastrointestinal surgery, orthopedic surgery, pain management, plastic surgery, rehabilitation and sports medicine. We also offer diagnostic radiology and lab services as well as a day surgery suite. The health care provided at Patriot Place is patient-focused, designed to support the needs of patients and their families.
