Dry, Care & Treats Product Developer
Reporting to: Care & Treats Product Development Programme Leader
Location: Birstall, UK;hybrid on-site 3-5 days/week
Salary range: £39,000 - £45,500 (depending on the level of experience), annual bonus, benefits
We have an excellent opportunity to join our Pet Nutrition business as a Product Developer within our regional R&D team. The role will focus on product development within our Dry and Care & Treats business units and provides a great opportunity to lead development projects from ideation through to industrialization. In addition, the Product Developer plays a key role in improving the design, performance, and value of our existing portfolio.
What will be your key responsibilities?

Responsible for ideation, development, and industrialisation of product innovation, renovation & product performance projects – acting as technical project leader within wider cross-functional teams

The optimization of existing recipes/products within our portfolio to unlock value

Development, testing, and deployment of new raw materials to unlock value creation

Ensure all product development projects deliver in line with food safety needs, pet nutrition guidelines & legislation

Act as a key member of the PNE Care & Treats/Dry product development community, working seamlessly with regional R&D, commercial, marketing & supply functions

Champion pet parent centricity to drive value-added innovation through collaboration with demand and global innovation teams

Act as a portfolio custodian to drive product performance & quality improvements aligned to our ambition to build superior propositions. Maintain and update product data such as frameworks, specifications, and portfolio documentation, supporting customer care and issue resolution

Ensure all product developments comply with pet nutrition guidelines, legal requirements, intellectual property, and food safety standards

Champion quality culture through our development and deployment work

What are we looking for?

Degree-level education in a scientific/technical subject
-
Several consistent years of professional experience & track record of delivering product and process solutions
-
Proven ability to build strong collaborative relationships and work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
-
Excellent communication skills
-
A highly proactive, solution-oriented attitude
-
Fluent in verbal and written English; additional languages are beneficial
