Innovation CTI Senior Scientist
Job Purpose/Overview
The Innovation Consumer Technical Insights (CTI) Senior Scientist provides technical leadership to guide the design and development of superior product experiences for projects in their respective Innovation Centre program spanning H2 and H3 innovation / renovation, as well as FEF and TRL projects. They are responsible for the definition of the proposition specific job story, the translation into tangible differentiators for the product experience, as well as designing and delivering the full pet parent learning plan on their projects. They will also be the key contact for selected brands regarding transversal learning on proposition performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible to lead the definition of proposition specific job stories for H2 and H3 projects and the translation into tangible differentiators for the product experience as input to the product and pack brief for R&D.
- Responsible to align product experience CSFs with Marketing and CMI that will ensure the product experience will deliver against pet parent job-to-be-done (JTBD) and superior proposition.
- Responsible for the creation and delivery of pet parent learnings plans to develop and validate the unbranded product proposition for their H2 and H3 projects, as well as learning plans on relevant TRL and FEF projects.
- Contributing to the claims brief and leading substantiation if/as required by their projects.
- Playing an active role in the DVF exploration, being a key collaborator with Marketing and CMI to define Desirability, making sure they proactively push the boundaries to increase likelihood of success for the project.
- Key contact for the Portfolio Leaders on selected brands to support them with transversal insight on the proposition performance (link to Preference Plus program).
- Responsible to role-model pet parent centricity and agile execution.
- Responsible to translate consumer & customer insights into product and pack design attributes and develop the Key Quality Attribute (KQA) ladder by linking brand promise, consumer benefit, and product KQAs.
- Active member of Global CTI community helping to advance functional excellence and business impact.
Context and Scope
The Innovation CTI Senior Scientist needs to bring the pet parent voice from the start of each project, collaborating closely with their R&D and x-functional projects partners. This may also include TRL or FEF projects. They will partner exceptionally well with their CMI peers, forming one pet parent voice as input to learning plans, product CSFs and claims.
They will ensure that all CTI work is delivered in line with CTI functional excellence as centrally defined by the Central CTI Director and are a member of the global CTI community, actively sharing learnings.
Experience & Qualifications:
- University degree in food science, consumer science or related equivalent
- Extensive experience in applied sensory and consumer science, as well as product development, in a business context
- Experience in project management
- Proven ability to build strong collaborative relationships with partners across internal teams and with external agencies
- Ability to effectively engage and influence peers in R&D, Marketing incl. CMI, COM, Supply
- Fluent in English, knowledge of a 2nd language is advantageous
