POSITION SUMMARY:

Marathon Petroleum is currently seeking a Project Controls Planning & Scheduling Specialist. This position is a Lead Scheduler role and will be located at the Detroit Refinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primavera Database Site Administrator: includes managing system access/privileges and provide training to Engineering, Construction and Turnaround
  • Analytics Site Administrator: includes the development of event progress, performance, and I/D reporting
  • Develop and mentor Area Leads, Planners and Operations to enhance their Primavera planning skills
  • Communicate RSP Key Deliverables and Major Milestones to support planning efforts
  • Develop and implement planning/scheduling processes and procedures to create consistency amongst the team
  • Work with Cross Functional TAR Core Team members to obtain sitewide Plan of the Plan progress updates
  • Conduct interactive schedule review workshops with Planners, Area Leads and Operations
  • Ensure all Turnaround, Construction, Tank & Engineering scheduling/planning follows corporate RSPs and S&Gs
  • Assist in the completion of Turnaround Close-out/Performance Summary Reports to Corporate
  • Train and mentor engineering firm schedules to ensure all scheduling standards and guidelines are followed
  • Participate in Bi-Weekly Construction/Engineering status meeting
  • Support Engineering Project Based Scheduling

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or similar field preferred.
  • Five (5) years or more refining or petrochemical industry experience, or three (3) years or more of experience with a bachelor’s degree.

PREFERRED SOFTWARE SKILLS:

  • Microsoft, Primavera P6, RCR, AVT, EPPM, Maxavera, Analytics, sTOX, iCON, iTAR, XENA
