About the role

As a Maersk Solution Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of establishing the Contract Logistics capabilities and growth in Germany or Poland. You will be a key driver for growth using your operational experience and strong analytical approach to act as the subject matter expert on designing and solutioning warehouse/cold store proposals supporting the local sales organizations to win large scale opportunities.

What you'll be doing

  • In support of customer proposals you will prepare the design of solutions including lay-outs, resource calculations, IT requirements, operational processes and flows, costs and in accordance with HSSE requirements.
  • You will develop and prepare new logistics concepts and value propositions based on identified best technical and organizational solutions.
  • Your area-accountable for the value propositions which are sold are fully scoped with robust pre- and post-sales engagement and commitment from commercial, solutions, pricing and operational pursuit team members. Engage pro-actively in the sales process for contract logistics opportunities, to act the subject matter expert and technical support to area sales safe-guarding operational viability of the solutions sold.
  • Build market and product knowledge and ensure this information is shared with all relevant stakeholders, sales and colleagues in the wider business. Act as a centre of excellence adopting and sharing best practices with the solution design community across Europe.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you can offer

  • Significant experience in International Supply Chains with strong understanding of the value drivers of supply chain and how that can help customers deliver value to their business
  • Focused on customer needs and have a data data driven approach with the ability to analyse and make the translation into appropriate solutions and actions plans.
  • Strong WND operational background and understanding, incl. extensive knowledge of technologies that support warehousing processes with proven pan European vertical specific understanding on trade / regulatory / statutory and security compliance requirements and technological solutions.
  • Numerate, financially astute and analytical with strong knowledge of Logistics processes and solution design outlines and methodologies,
  • Solid technology skills that include a comprehensive understanding of WMS requirements.
  • Enjoys collaboration and with proven track record in a matrix, multi-cultural organisation, building strong relationships and networks both locally and internationally.
  • Agile and self-starter Strong that enjoys working in a high pace and versatile environment.

Salary banding: 16,000 - 20,000 per month
