Key responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and guide operational teams; set priorities and goals.
- Operational Oversight: Organize and control terminal operations during shifts; act as deputy to Head of Execution.
- Planning & Coordination: Monitor terminal planning to meet vessel schedules; address potential issues proactively.
- Equipment & Safety: Coordinate with Asset Management to ensure equipment availability; enforce safety policies and practices.
- On-Site Presence: Maintain visibility across quay and yard operations; prepare operational reports.
- Staff Development: Monitor performance, provide feedback, and support training for supervisory staff.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with Customer Services to enhance procedures and systems.
- Shift Flexibility: Work across shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to refining methodologies, processes, and performance metrics.
We are looking for:
- Education & Experience:
- Master / Engineering diploma with extensive operations experience or a degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years supervisory experience in container operations or similar industry
- Technical & Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of container terminal operations, vessel cargo logistics, hazardous and special cargo handling.
- Familiar with IMO regulations and international safety standards.
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge of modern terminal planning/control systems.
- Leadership & People Skills: Ability to lead teams, foster cooperation, and develop staff.
- Promote teamwork while achieving operational objectives.
- Other Requirements: Fluent in English and local language (where applicable).
