The Driver Verticals team (Airports & Scheduled Rides) is part of a mission-critical endeavor that keeps travelers moving smoothly. As an engineer on our team, your role will be essential in making sure drivers and riders enjoy a dependable pre-booked and/or airports experience. You'll work hand in hand with various teams across Lyft, fostering collaboration and driving innovation to tackle the unique challenges of the travel and airports industry. We're seeking a Full Stack Engineer with strong frontend expertise to help build user-facing features as well as internal tools. You'll work on products that directly delight both drivers and passengers.
This role emphasizes collaboration, ownership, and technical excellence. You'll partner with product managers, data scientists, QA and operations teams to ship high-quality features that balance rapid iteration with long-term scalability.
Responsibilities:

Build and own features end-to-end from product specs through deployment and maintenance, ensuring high quality at every stage

Drive frontend architecture for modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and Next.js

Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate emerging technologies into our evolving infrastructure

Shape the roadmap by contributing technical perspective on architecture decisions and business priorities

Write maintainable code with comprehensive testing, clear documentation, and thoughtful design
-
Support your team through pairing, healthy technical debates, and a culture of mutual growth
-
Interface with stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate progress, and respond to technical questions
Experience:
-
3+ years of professional software engineering experience
-
Strong proficiency building production-grade frontend applications with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern frameworks

Backend experience with Python and Flask
-
Familiarity with AWS services (DynamoDB, SQS) and Kubernetes
-
Experience designing, building, and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs
-
Understanding of frontend fundamentals: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, accessibility standards (WCAG/a11y), performance optimization, and component-driven architecture

Proven ability to write comprehensive tests (unit, integration, end-to-end)

Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming

Working knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases

The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $108,000 - CAD $135,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
