Test Engineer

At DXC, one of our platinum accounts has openings for Test Engineers for varying skill levels. The successful candidate will work within multiple teams and will be highly organised, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Your role will include executing functional tests and authoring significant revisions to test materials as necessary.

Role responsibilities:

• Contribute to test planning, scheduling, and managing test resources; lead formal test execution phases on larger projects• Define test cases and create integration and system test scripts and configuration test questionnaires from functional requirement documents
• Maintain defect reports and update reports following regression testing
• Adhere to and advocate use of established quality methodology and escalate issues as appropriate
• Understand the functional design of software products/suites being tested and their underlying technologies to facilitate authoring testware, diagnosing system issues, and ensuring that tests accurately address required business functionality
• Apply basic industry and functional area knowledge related to the software product being tested and applicable regulatory statutes to determine whether system components meet business specifications
• Develop specified testing deliverables over the lifecycle of the project

• Excellent organisation and time management skills• Effective analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Good personal computer and business solutions software skills
• Great communication and presentation skills with both peers and Client.
• Ability to write lengthy procedural, step-based narrative test materials including the necessary testbed set-up steps
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Desirable Skills and Technologies:

• Knowledge of varied OE; Windows, Redhat, Linux• Exposure to Cloud and virtualisation technologies; AWS, Azure, VMWare
• Experience working with configuration management, defect tracking, query tools, software productivity tools, and templates used to create test scripts, trace matrices, etc.
• Experience working with software product testing and applicable regulatory statutes
• Experience in Oracle, SQL/PL_SQL, MongoDB, or other relevant programs.
