Job Description (JD): Role: SAP GTS Functional Architect – GTS 11.0 to E4H Upgrade
Job Level: JL8
Role Overview
The SAP GTS Functional Architect will lead the end-to-end upgrade of SAP GTS 11.0 to SAP GTS E4H, acting as the functional authority for Global Trade Services. The role requires deep expertise in trade compliance, customs, and E4H architecture, along with strong stakeholder and delivery management skills.
Key Responsibilities

Lead SAP GTS 11.0 → GTS E4H upgrade from a functional architecture perspective
-
Define the target-state functional and integration architecture for SAP GTS - E4H, ensuring compatibility with the existing SAP ECC and
GTS 11 landscape, while being future-ready for S/4HANA integration.

Perform fit-gap analysis, impact assessment, and solution design for E4H
-
Own functional design for:
-
Export & Import Compliance
-
Sanctioned Party List (SPL) Screening
-
Embargo & Legal Control
-
Customs Management
-
Preference Management
-
Drive integration design with ECC / S/4HANA, SD, MM, TM, and Business Partner
-
Lead functional governance, risk management, and compliance validation
-
Oversee data migration validation, testing strategy, and UAT support
-
Coordinate with Basis, Technical, Security, and SAP teams
-
Provide executive-level updates and support steering committee decisions
-
Lead cutover, go-live, and hypercare functional activities
-
Mentor and guide GTS functional consultants (onshore/offshore)
Required Skills & Experience
-
10–14 years overall SAP experience
-
8+ years of strong hands-on SAP GTS functional experience
-
Proven experience as SAP GTS Functional Architect
-
Direct experience in SAP GTS 11.0 to GTS E4H upgrade
-
Strong knowledge of:
-
Trade Compliance & Customs processes
-
GTS document flow and compliance checks
-
ECC / S/4H integration architecture
-
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Upgrade & Migration Leadership
-
Lead GTS 11.0 → E4H upgrade strategy
-
Own functional impact assessment of:

Data model changes
-
Business partner integration
-
Document flow changes
Coordinate with Basis and SAP for:

System conversion approach
-
Downtime planning
-
Cutover readiness
-
Validate migration of:
-
Master data
-
Transactional data
-
Compliance results and audit logs
Functional Architecture & Solution Design

Act as Functional Architect for SAP GTS E4H upgrade

Define target-state GTS architecture aligned with S/4HANA and E4H principles

Lead fit-gap analysis between GTS 11.0 and GTS E4H

Design solution for:

Sanctioned Party List (SPL) Screening

Ensure solution follows SAP Best Practices and minimizes custom code
