Job Description – Functional Consultant SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI – AP & AR) – Greenfield Project

We are seeking a Functional Consultant – Finance (FI) with strong expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to join our SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation. The consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, and deploying best-practice solutions in vendor and customer accounting, credit and collections, and payment processes. The role also includes Business Process Reengineering (BPR) to harmonize and standardize finance operations using S/4HANA capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Act as functional expert for SAP FI Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

Lead BPR workshops to redesign AP/AR processes in line with industry standards and S/4HANA innovations.

Gather, document, and validate business requirements for vendor and customer accounting.

Configure SAP S/4HANA Finance for:

• Accounts Payable (AP): Vendor master data, invoice processing, payment runs, dunning, integration with Procurement (MM).
• Accounts Receivable (AR): Customer invoicing, incoming payments, credit management, dunning, integration with Sales (SD).
• Payment processes: Bank integration, electronic payments, lockbox, clearing.

Support tax compliance and reporting within AP/AR processes (VAT, withholding tax).

Ensure smooth integration with related modules (FI-GL, CO, MM, SD, TRM).

Prepare and execute test scenarios (unit, integration, UAT) and support data migration (vendors, customers, open items).

Provide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to key users.

Deliver project documentation: blueprints, functional specifications, test scripts, cutover activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

5+ years of experience as an SAP FI Functional Consultant (AP/AR focus).

Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance (Greenfield preferred).

Solid understanding of vendor/customer accounting, credit management, and collections.

Experience with integration of AP/AR with MM, SD, and Treasury/Banking.

Knowledge of tax requirements (VAT/GST, withholding tax, electronic invoicing).

Background in Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and process harmonization.

Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

French citizenship

Familiarity with Agile project methodologies and SAP activate

Nice-to-Have

Experience with Central Finance (cFIN).

Familiarity with electronic invoicing & compliance tools (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, Sovos).

Knowledge of SAP Cash Management & Treasury integration.

Industry experience in multinational companies with high transaction volumes.
