Service Now Technical Consultant (Senior/Medior)

Job Scope/summary

What the position offers you:To support our growth in the Service Now Business Group in the Belgium, we are looking for Service Now Technical Consultants, who can straddle both business requirements and technology implementations to deliver Service Now solutions.

The Technical Consultant is one of the core roles in all our Service Now implementations. This role is responsible for supporting customers in the successful implementation and use of Service Now, including configuration, tailoring and coaching to meet their unique business requirements. Job Specifics/responsibilities:

  • Design and shape the technical architecture of the Service Now platform and support complex development approaches in collaboration with business analysts and functional consultants.
  • Act as trusted Technical Advisor/Expert.
  • Implement functionalities to meet customer requirements using the front-end and back-end capabilities on the Service Now platform.
  • Implement integrations between Service Now and external systems, whether on cloud or on premise (ex: SSO, SAP, other ITSM applications, etc.), using technologies like SOAP and REST Webservices, JDBC, LDAP, etc.
  • Produce technical documentation.

Working Relationships:As technical consultant you could be individual assigned with clients or working in teams together with direct DXC colleagues and very likely with colleagues from other DXC countries. You will be working with different people at clients to help them with their Service Now challenges and successful implementations. You will be working with:

  • Service Now Solution Consultants
  • Business Analysts
  • Project Managers
  • Service Now Architects
  • Other Service Now Technical Consultants.

Clients:

  • Main stakeholders such as Product Owners, Customer Subject Matter Experts, and customer architects.
  • Customer developers and IT technical staff.
  • Service Now support team and Technical Experts.

What You Bring With You:

Education (degree) and professional experience required:

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in business, computer science or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Relevant work experience within the Service Now platform (GRC/IRM, ITOM, HRSD Sec Ops and/or other topics)
  • Experience in consulting external customers.
  • Knowledge of ITSM and agile ways of working and/or frameworks like DevOps, IT4IT, ITIL

Technical Skills

  • (Strong) experience in the full life cycle of Software Development, from business requirements analysis to solution design, testing and go-live.
  • Experience in system performance analysis and documentation.
  • Experience on technical implementations of various Service Now modules.
  • Mastering web technologies like JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, AngularJS with Service Now.
  • Scripting proficiency in Service Now Client Scripts, Business Rules, UI policies, Access Control, Validation Scripts, background scripts.
  • Expertise in creating and configuring tables, forms, lists, reports, workflow editor, email notifications and managing data under Service Now support & administration.
  • Expertise in writing test plans, test scripts, test cases and generating reports in defect report tools from the market.

  • Good to have experience dealing with technical end-users in a service-oriented role.
  • Highly focused on customer satisfaction
  • Ability to switch between multiple tasks/projects/contexts.
  • Curious and self-learner
  • Ability to assume leadership and work without direct supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and like working with customers in problem solving mode.
  • Capacity to travel which will be necessary but is not integral to this position.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, another European language would be a pre.
