Job Description:
We are looking for a Mid-Level Data Processing Engineer to support and develop data ingestion and transformation pipelines on the Microsoft Azure platform.The role focuses on processing data from external sources, ensuring data quality, and maintaining reliable ETL workflows running on Azure-based infrastructure.You will work closely (in English) with external data providers and consumers, as well as internal stakeholders, including our customer business analysts’ team.
Job location: hybrid (Warsaw, Cracow, Gdansk, Wroclaw)
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve technical and data quality issues in existing data pipelines
- Implement and onboard new external data sources
- Transform incoming data into the internal system-adopted format
- Validate data processing results and ensure pipeline reliability
- Support and monitor production workloads running on Azure infrastructure
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to clarify data requirements and issues
On-Call Duties
- Rotational on-call duty during the workweek, approximately once per week
- Includes one afternoon shift (15:00–23:00)
- Weekend on-call duties occur less than once per month
- On-call focuses on monitoring, incident response, and basic troubleshooting
Mandatory Skills
- Python: Basic to intermediate coding skills, including:pandas
- writing simple ETL scripts
- unit testing (pytest)
- SQL: Ability to write simple queries for troubleshooting and data analysis
- Docker: Basic container knowledge (running containers, checking logs, understanding container concepts)
- Microsoft Azure: Experience with core services such as:Key Vault
- Azure Container Registry (ACR)
- Virtual Machines
- ADLS / Blob Storage
- basic monitoring
- PostgreSQL: Basic database operations (tables, SQL queries) and hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL using database clients or IDEs (e.g. DBeaver, pg Admin, Py Charm, VS Code).
- Linux / Bash: Basic command-line usage (file operations, SSH, basic VM interaction)
- Kubernetes: Basic understanding of clusters and pods; ability to check and interpret logs for effective debugging
- APIs: Experience with REST APIs, including:making requests (e.g., Postman)
- handling bearer tokens
- reading API documentation
Availability for On-Call duties during late shifts and occasional weekends
Nice-to-Have Skills
- GitHub: Version control basics, pull requests, branching, GitHub Actions
- Monitoring Tools: Grafana, Azure metrics, basic alerting concepts
- Argo Workflows: Exposure to ETL pipelines
- YAML: Ability to read and modify configuration files
- Databricks: Basic monitoring and troubleshooting
- Agile / Scrum: Familiarity with sprint planning and daily stand-ups
