Job Description – Functional Consultant SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI-GL, AP & Tax) – Greenfield Project

We are seeking a Functional Consultant in SAP Finance (FI) with expertise in General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Taxation to join our SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation program. The consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, and delivering financial processes aligned with best practices and compliant with local/global tax regulations. The role also involves Business Process Reengineering (BPR) to ensure the adoption of optimized finance processes leveraging S/4HANA capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Act as subject matter expert for SAP FI (GL, AP, and Tax) within the project.

Lead business process design workshops (BPR) to challenge and redesign finance processes for S/4HANA.

Gather, analyze, and document business requirements in Finance and Tax.

Configure SAP S/4HANA Finance modules including:

General Ledger (FI-GL): Chart of accounts, parallel ledgers, financial closing.

Accounts Payable (FI-AP): Vendor master data, invoice processing, payment runs, integration with Procurement (MM).

Taxation: Indirect tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, electronic tax reporting, integration with external tax engines if applicable.

Support integration with related modules (MM, SD, CO, EPPM, Treasury).

Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and corporate finance policies.

Prepare and execute test scenarios (unit, integration, UAT) and support cutover & go-live activities.

Provide end-user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Contribute to key deliverables: blueprint documentation, functional specifications, test scripts, data migration design.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

5+ years of experience as a Functional Consultant in SAP FI (GL, AP, Tax).

Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance (Greenfield preferred).

Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and tax compliance (VAT, withholding tax, electronic reporting).

Experience in integration of Finance with Procurement (MM), Sales (SD), and Controlling (CO).

Demonstrated experience in Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and process standardization.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Fluent in French & English (additional languages a plus).

French citizenship

Familiarity with Agile project methodologies and SAP activate

Nice-to-Have

Experience with SAP Central Finance (cFIN) or Group Reporting.

Familiarity with Treasury and Risk Management (TRM).

Exposure to electronic invoicing and tax compliance tools (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, Sovos).

Industry experience in multinational environments with complex tax requirements.
