Account Project Lead (APL)

As the APL, you’ll be the strategic anchor for all project delivery across a key customer or portfolio of customers. You’ll bring clarity, leadership, and execution excellence to mission‑critical initiatives—acting as a trusted advisor to our significant government customer and a key partner to Account Leadership.
From early solution design through to operational handover, you’ll own delivery outcomes end-to-end. Your credibility, insight, and leadership will help shape new opportunities, elevate customer confidence, and drive continuous improvement and growth.
What You’ll Do
As the Account Project Lead, you will:
Lead with Accountability
- Own the successful end-to-end delivery of all projects across your assigned customer account.
- Serve as the single point of contact for project delivery—both to Account Leadership and the customer.
Deliver with Precision
- Oversee daily project execution to ensure scope, quality, schedule, and financial targets are consistently met.
- Manage project resources—people, partners, and services—to optimise delivery performance.
- Govern the project portfolio and lead escalation processes when needed.
Strengthen Standards & Quality
- Ensure full compliance with project management methodologies, tools, and governance standards.
- Drive continuous improvements in productivity, quality, and delivery excellence.
Steer the Financials
- Manage project profitability, forecasting, and financial reporting with accuracy and transparency.
- Partner with Account Leadership to support account growth and maximise delivery-driven revenue opportunities.
Guide Seamless Transitions
- Oversee smooth handover of projects into the operational (RUN) environment.
- Provide holistic reporting across financials, contract performance, quality, productivity, and labour footprint.
How You’ll Operate
The APL works within our established governance framework and is a key member of the Account Leadership Team.You’ll collaborate closely with the Account Customer Partner (CP), Architecture , Service Relationship Management (SRM), and Build teams to ensure cohesive, aligned, and high-quality delivery.
Success Profile
You’re someone who brings:
- Proven leadership and exceptional people management skills
- A deep understanding of enterprise operations and complex customer ecosystems
- Broad IT operations knowledge and familiarity with enterprise service delivery
- Strong grasp of project management methodologies and governance frameworks
- Professional certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
- Strong financial acumen with experience driving project profitability
- Ability to define roles and accountability across diverse stakeholders
- A track record of building trusted customer relationships and serving as a delivery advisor
Qualifications & Experience
We’re looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex project portfolios in large enterprise environments
- Experience managing financials, contracts, and commercial outcomes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Familiarity with structured delivery governance frameworks
- Experience supporting account growth and contributing to delivery-led expansion initiatives
