Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Service Now ITSM Development

  • Configure, customize, and enhance ITSM modules:Incident, Problem, Change, Request
  • CMDB & Discovery
  • Knowledge & Service Catalog
  • SLAs, UI Policies, Client/Server Scripts
  • Build workflows and automation using Flow Designer, business rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, and ACLs.
  • Develop service catalog items, record producers, and fulfillment workflows.
  • Create dashboards, Performance Analytics metrics, and ITSM reporting.

Service Now SPM (Strategic Portfolio Management) Development

  • Develop and configure SPM capabilities across:Project Portfolio Management (PPM)
  • Demand Management
  • Project/Agile Management
  • Resource Management
  • Roadmapping & Portfolio Planning
  • Time Cards & Financial Planning (if applicable)
  • Implement Portfolio Workbench, scoring models, timelines, and prioritization algorithms.
  • Build workflows for demand intake, project approval, financial tracking, and resource allocation.
  • Customize project templates, work breakdown structures, agile boards, and sprint/epic/story workflows.
  • Integrate SPM with ITSM, HR, Finance, or Agile DevOps tools to support end-to-end delivery.

Platform & Integration Engineering

  • Develop integrations using REST/SOAP, Integration Hub, MID Server, webhooks, and scripted APIs.
  • Ensure secure authentication via OAuth, SAML, JWT, and role-based access (RBAC).
  • Follow DevOps practices—update sets, source control, review gates, and deployment standards.
  • Support platform upgrades, cloning, health checks, and performance tuning.

Collaboration, Governance, and Leadership

  • Collaborate with ITSM/PPM process owners, PMO, project managers, and enterprise architects to define requirements.
  • Provide senior-level guidance to junior developers and help enforce platform best practices.
  • Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and roadmap sessions.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, scripts, data models, and integrations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • 5–8+ years hands-on Service Now development experience.
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript, Glide scripting, Flow Designer, and Scoped Applications.
  • Deep experience with ITSM and SPM module architecture, data models, and APIs.
  • Strong understanding of CMDB, Service Catalog, and workflow automation.
  • Experience integrating Service Now with enterprise systems (HR, Finance, DevOps tools, monitoring).
  • Ability to design secure, scalable solutions aligned with platform best practices.

Process & Domain Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4 service management processes.
  • Experience with PMO processes, project lifecycle management, and portfolio/demand workflows.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies (especially for SPM/Agile integration).

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and lead complex technical efforts.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements-gathering skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Service Now certifications:CSA (System Administrator)
  • CIS – ITSM
  • CIS – PPM / SPM
  • CAD (Application Developer)
  • ITIL Foundation v4 certification.
  • Experience with Agile development tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, Rally).
  • Experience with Project or Financial Management concepts.
