If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.
As a Paint Repair Technician, you will play a critical role in the production of our world-class vehicles and electric powertrains. Your primary responsibility will be to perform high-quality paint repairs and refinishing on vehicle surfaces to meet stringent cosmetic and durability standards. This hands-on role requires a deep understanding of automotive paint systems, surface preparation, and application techniques. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in Paint, Body-in-White, General Assembly, and Powertrain to ensure flawless finishes and continuous process improvements.
You Will:

-

-
Operate and maintain HVLP spray guns, paint booths, and other specialized tools and equipment.
-
Inspect painted surfaces for defects such as runs, sags, orange peel, dirt, or color mismatch, and correct them using appropriate techniques.
-
Apply basecoat, clearcoat, and single-stage paints with precision and consistency.
-
Follow standardized work instructions and safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
-
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to identify root causes of paint defects and implement corrective actions.
-
Maintain accurate records of repairs, materials used, and process deviations.
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to tools, materials, and processes.
-
Escalate process abnormalities or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate support teams.
You Bring:
-
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in automotive paint application and repair.
-
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
-
Proficient in color matching, blending, and refinishing techniques.
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
-
Ability to follow detailed process steps repetitively while maintaining quality.
-
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive motions.
-
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
-
Experience in automotive bodywork and metal finishing.
-
Familiarity with OEM paint systems and repair standards.
