Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to leverage Transportation Management Systems to manage Lowe's transportation program. This includes responsibility for ensuring TMS accuracy & optimization, ensuring Lowe's KPIs meet expectations and carrier capacity is in place to support business needs and control expense, as well as communicate both internally and externally to provide progress reports, status changes and improvement opportunities. This role is critical to Lowe's as it provides leadership for the transportation team and actively represents transportation cross-functionally within the organization.

What You Will Do

The primary purpose of this role is to leverage Transportation Management Systems to manage Lowe's transportation program and processes. This includes responsibility for ensuring TMS accuracy & optimization, ensuring Lowe's KPIs meet expectations and carrier capacity is in place to support business needs and control expense, as well as communicate both internally and externally to provide progress reports, status changes and improvement opportunities. Responsibilities also include leading key initiatives, identifying enhancement opportunities, streamlining processes, and increasing efficiencies. This role provides leadership for the transportation team and actively represents transportation cross-functionally within the organization.

• Responsibility Statements
• Directs global transportation systems, analytics, and reporting; establishes Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that drive competitive costs and service, while adding value for transportation and Supply Chain
• Develops and maintains tariff and systems configurations to obtain optimal performance by the TMS
• Seeks enhancement opportunities to TMS to drive efficiencies and reduce cost
• Monitors TMS health and stability to ensure timely execution of freight movements
• Conducts system optimization so that the optimal transportation provider is selected by TMS
• Oversees a team that conducts transportation network models to identify optimal transportation network solutions that will be carried out by the Transportation Operations Team
• Monitors industry best practices to ensure success across a complex Logistics network, including the evaluation and impact of technological advancements
• Develops and implements supply chain strategies that respond to network and user needs and position Lowe’s as the forerunner of leading edge approaches
• Leads global transportation initiatives for transportation management systems, analytics and reporting functions; demonstrates an ability to effectively influence key decision makers
• Keeps current on industry trends, such as energy alternatives, and communicates financial and long-term impacts
• Enables execution of domestic transportation business plan and payment to carriers by technology solutions that address their needs
• Translates complex information into common, understandable terms; communicates effectively with all levels of management
• Leads, develops, and mentors a team of transportation professionals

What you Need to Succeed:

• Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management / Logistics, Transportation or related field

• 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Transportation or Logistics, 8+ years of Experience in Supply Chain, Transportation or Logistics without a degree

• Preferred Qualifications

• 4 years’ experience as Transportation Manager or equivalent or 3 years leadership experience with direct report responsibility
