Your Impact
The primary purpose of the Learning Manager is to understand and work within the Enterprise Learning Development Strategy to develop and align learning programs to meet the needs of the business and ensure that associates achieve business goals and operational objectives. This role supports cross-functional projects and ensures that associates and leaders have the role specific and leadership capabilities needed to drive performance and productivity. The Learning Manager will also be responsible for leading a team to conduct comprehensive needs analysis, design, logistics, evaluation and continuous improvement of learning programs to close business and performance gaps and to identify efficiency and productivity opportunities. To be successful, this role requires knowledge of retail and business specific areas, Lowe's leadership principles, business policies, strategies and an understanding of the people, process, tools and technologies that enable the business.
What You Will Do:
- Supports the larger Learning team to coordinate service delivery strategies and processes across the organization. Support cross-functional projects and ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities within established constraints.
- Oversees the design of innovative learning solutions and programs at scale, incorporating multiple formats and relevant learning activities, including physical classroom and virtual instructor-led material and on demand. Design learning approaches that are effective and engaging to learners, applying adult learning principles, and follow-up reinforcement activities.
- Proactively seeks out opportunities to build capability and identifies where developing know how can drive improved business outcomes.
- Anticipate business needs and competitive landscape, identifying strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate business risks; create value through associate and customer insight.
- Drives the development and maintenance of a comprehensive suite of solutions to address the performance gaps in a business, an audience, a function, or an initiative.
- Creates and maintains strong partnership between Talent COE, HR Business Partners, and key business leaders to establish sponsorship, manage stakeholders, conduct needs assessments, design, plan for implementation, deliver, and evaluate solutions that foster alignment, building leadership capabilities and further the organizations talent strategies.
- Is a trusted advisor who proactively engages leaders, embraces ‘leader as teachers’ and builds strong, collaborative working relationships with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), business leaders, team members, vendors and other key stakeholders.
- Stays apprised of best in class solutions to create engaging programs for multiple workforce skill sets and generational needs.
- Effectively manages dependencies, interdependencies, risks, issues and related mitigation strategies of multiple concurrent projects to ensure speed in delivering high-impact work.
- Establishes measurement strategy to ensure learning solutions directly support and can drive positive impacts on business metrics.
- As required may serve as a facilitator using approved facilitator resources.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree Organization Development, Instructional Design, Learning, Leadership, Psychology, or other related fields preferred or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
- Master’s degree Organization Development, Instructional Design, Learning, Leadership, Psychology, or other related fields preferred or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
- 7 Years Experience in training delivery and/or instructional design experience required; preferably for a large multi-state and/or global company as a manager.
- 6 Years Progressive experience one or more specialty functions of Human Resources, with a significant portion focused on talent management (e.g., employee and/or leadership development, instructional design, training, performance management) and a mix of operational (Contact Center, supply chain and contact center), strategic, and systems thinking experience
- 2 Years Experience directly or indirectly leading and mentoring a team and helping to foster/create a “great place to work.”
- 6 Years Experience successfully managing multiple priorities & projects through successful delivery & implementation under time, budget, and political pressure
Preferred Skills/Education
- Experience with an ERP system (Workday preferred)
