Position Summary
Prepare surface of components and large weldments to be wet painted by removing burrs, slag, spatter, rust and scale. Hang components on paint racks while maintaining proper documentation.
Job Responsibilities
-
Use a variety of hand tools to remove scratches, excess weld material and burrs;
-
Examine and feel surface for defects;
-
Determine what process should be used when cleaning and hanging parts;
-
Perform general paint room maintenance;
-
Accurately utilize the company’s Business Management Software (ERP);
-
Safely operate fork trucks and overhead cranes; and
-
Support EH&S tasks and initiatives;

Other job-duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills

High attention to detail and quality;

Able to plan and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks;

Able to keep work area clean and organized;

Able to follow directions from peers within paint department;

Must work well under pressure; and

Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills.

Environmental, Health and Safety

Understand the Company’s EH&S Policy and how it relates to this job;

Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as company rules and policies that pertain to this job;

Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures;

Immediately notify the supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures; and

Attend required EH&S training.
