Mission Overview:
Join our dynamic team supporting the U.S. Navy’s Surveillance Towed Array Sensor System (SURTASS) program. As a Field Support Technician, you will provide remote and on-site service, repair, and installation support for the TL 29A towed array system across shipboard and shore-based environments. Your technical expertise in system diagnostics, maintenance, and operations will contribute to the reliability and performance of critical maritime surveillance systems.
This role requires professionalism, independence, and disciplined execution to ensure mission readiness. You will collaborate with ship crews, government representatives, and technical teams to address technical issues, maintain operational integrity, and adhere to procedural compliance.
What You’ll Do:

Inspect & Maintain: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware systems, including hydrophones, telemetry, signal conditioning, power distribution, and tow control equipment.

Deploy & Recover: Provide on-site support for system deployment, recovery, and component installation or removal during pier-side and at-sea activities.

Diagnose & Resolve: Address technical deviations from performance specifications using established procedures and develop solutions to moderately complex technical problems.

Test & Calibrate: Conduct system calibrations, functional checks, and diagnostics to verify operational readiness and ensure data integrity.

Document & Report: Prepare detailed reports for analysis of failure trends, serviceability issues, and system configurations in accordance with program standards.

Collaborate & Support: Work with project managers, technical teams, and other contractors to support corrective maintenance, system upgrades, and mission readiness events.

Ensure Compliance: Follow established procedures, adhere to quality assurance and safety protocols, and assist in the development of area-wide procedural/policy changes.
Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a technical trade school, military technical program, or equivalent civilian electronics/mechanical training.

Training or coursework in one or more of the following:
Acoustic systems

Electrical/electronic maintenance
-
Mechanical systems
-
Data/telemetry systems
-
Hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair of complex technical systems (minimum 3–5 years preferred).

Ability to work independently in shipboard and maritime environments.

Active DoD Secret clearance (minimum).
-
U.S. passport and valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with SURTASS systems, towed arrays, or other U.S. Navy shipboard maintenance programs.

Familiarity with hydrophone arrays, signal conditioning equipment, or maritime telemetry systems.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-team environments.

Demonstrated professionalism, accountability, and adherence to procedural compliance in high visibility roles.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
