Leidos Dynetics is seeking a motivated, detailed-oriented problem-solver to join our modeling and simulation team as an Aerospace Modeling and Simulation Engineer in Charlottesville, VA.
You will play a valuable part in developing and testing models of aerospace systems, to include air-launched weapons; ballistic missile systems; avionics; hypersonic vehicles; and guidance, navigation, and controls across a wide range of projects and programs.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and test models of aerospace systems based on provided information, research, and engineering principles.
- Document model performance against requirements.
- Document algorithm design.
- Work collaboratively with an engineering team comprised of internal and external team members.
- Interact with external stakeholders to define requirements and perform model demonstrations.
- Candidate must be local to or willing to relocate to the Charlottesville, VA area.
Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 4+ years applicable experience (or M.S. with 2+ years)
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a Secret Clearance with the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Top Secret Clearance.
- Experience with 3DOF/6DOF flight models
- Experience with modeling missile systems
- Experience in MATLAB/Simulink
- Detailed understanding of the systems engineering process for aerospace systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to travel when needed by the program
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ballistic missiles, air-launched missiles, or hypersonic vehicles
- Experience in C++ or Python
- Experience with configuration management tools such as SVN and Git
- Experience integrating and testing GNC algorithms
- Experience in ITASE or AFSIM

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
