Leidos is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college student to join our Real Estate & Workplace Solutions (RE&WS) Team on-site as a Conference Services Intern. In this role, the Intern will gain hands-on experience in planning, organizing, executing, and supporting a wide variety of Leidos meetings, conferences, and special events. This unique opportunity will provide an environment where the Intern will learn and/or hone essential skills and gain a true understanding of what it takes to produce successful corporate meetings and events. From conceptualization, to execution, to post-event support, the Intern will contribute to impactful projects that positively impact the Leidos workplace and customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Event Coordination

Assist in the planning, scheduling, implementation, and post-event support for Leidos meetings, conferences, and special events.

Support and manage logistics for conference facilities, catering, audiovisual services, transportation, and other related details.
Vendor and Partner Liaison:
-
Collaborate and coordinate with suppliers who provide event-related services.

Ensure seamless event execution and vendor/supplier performance that aligns with estimated costs and contract terms.
Research and Analysis:
-
Conduct research on current event trends, best practices, and innovative solutions to enhance event experiences.

Support data collection and analysis to inform event strategy and measure success.
Administrative Support

Prepare and maintain event documentation, including soft and hard-copy files, meeting request forms, run-of-shows, budgets, vendor contracts, planning correspondence, attendee/post-event reports, survey results (when applicable), and payments/reconciliations.

Assist with general administrative duties such as conference room searches/scheduling, email and planning correspondence, etc.
On-site Support

Provide support for meetings and events by participating in on-site attendee registration or badge pick-up, conference room set-up or placement of VIP materials (e.g., Leidos branded notepads, pens, etc.), troubleshooting facility/services issues, etc.

Collaborate closely with other members of the Conference Services and Soft-Services team (e.g., Conference Center Manager, AV Technicians, Catering/Flik staff, Facilities Managers, Security personnel, Concierge and Mailroom staff, etc.) to ensure a smooth and successful experience for all participants.
Basic Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Conference/Event Management, Communications, Hospitality, Tourism, General Business, or a related field.

Experience working with Microsoft Office Platforms such as Excel, Outlook, etc.

Knowledge of software systems, such as Cvent and/or Social Tables, is a plus.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively and efficiently to a wide range of audiences.

U.S. Citizenship required.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $41,600.00 - $75,200.00
