About Lang Chain:
At Lang Chain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous. We provide the agent engineering platform and open source frameworks developers need to ship reliable agents fast.
Our open source frameworks, Lang Chain and Lang Graph, see over 90+ million downloads per month and help developers build agents with speed and granular control. Lang Smith offers observability, evaluation, and deployment for rapid iteration, enabling teams to transform LLM systems into dependable production experiences.
Lang Chain is trusted by millions of developers worldwide and powers AI teams at companies like Replit, Clay, Cloudflare, Harvey, Rippling, Vanta, Workday, and more.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're looking for a Product Manager to own key parts of Lang Smith. Building AI products is changing the way software teams work; Lang Smith is the observability, evals and deployment platform that makes shipping reliable AI systems possible.
This role sits at the intersection of user experience and production infrastructure. You'll partner with engineers to build features that feel intuitive while solving deeply technical problems: versioning complex prompt chains, debugging multi-step agent failures, or designing evaluation systems that scale from 10 to 10,000 test cases.
You'll work directly with customers — from early-stage startups shipping their first agent to enterprises running mission-critical AI systems — to understand where the platform breaks down and what capabilities unlock new workflows.
-
Own the roadmap for a core area of the Lang Smith platform.
-
Work with customers to understand their challenges and define new product features.
-
Work with engineering to define scope, make technical tradeoffs, and ship high-impact features quickly.
-
Help shape product strategy alongside our founders and leadership team.
HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:
-
3+ years of product management or engineering experience, ideally building developer tools, infrastructure products, or technical SaaS platforms.
-
Deeply technical — you can hold your own in conversations about API design, system architecture, data pipelines, and debugging production issues.
-
Bias toward action — you'd rather ship, learn, and iterate than build the perfect solution upfront.
-
Strong written and verbal communicator who can align cross-functional teams around a shared vision.
EVEN BETTER
-
Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical background.
-
Previous experience at a high-growth startup or developer-focused company.
-
Hands-on experience building with LLMs, agents, or AI applications.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
-
Shipped features that customers actively use and cite as reasons they chose Lang Smith over alternatives.
-
Faster iteration cycles — clearer scoping, tighter feedback loops, and measurable improvements in customer workflows.
-
Strong cross-functional relationships with engineering, design, sales, and customer success.
Compensation & Benefits:
- We offer competitive compensation that includes base salary, meaningful equity, and benefits such as health and dental coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, and life insurance. Actual compensation will vary based on role, level, and location. For team members in the EU and UK, we provide locally competitive benefits aligned with regional norms and regulations.
Annual salary range: $180,000-$215,000
