Research Assistant (Study Tech) Animal Operations in Greenfield, Indiana.

$22.00 per hour

Day time hours, once fully trained will require working every 3rd weekend (both Saturday and Sunday)

In this position you will be conducting Animal Research studies that will be looking at the safety, effectiveness and toxicity of drugs that are in early development phase and/or chemical substances

Job Responsibilities:

• May provide husbandry duties to small and large animals

• Perform various dosing techniques with small and large animals

• May perform bleeding techniques with small and large animals

• Collect biological samples

• Perform basic measurements such as body weight, food consumption, body temperature, blood pressure, etc.

• Maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare in accordance with Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).

• Measure tumor size

• Perform medical imaging

• Monitor for behavior changes

• Document findings in LIMS

• Report any animals concerns to supervisory

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in veterinary technology or related program OR Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Biology, Wildlife Studies, or related life science field OR 2+ years of college in related Sciences field AND 1-2 years of hands on large or small animal care in laboratory/research or farming operation.S

• Strong commitment to providing excellent care to all animals!

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Animal Research experience is great but not required A passion for research and science

• Experince with using standard laboratory equipment such as sclaes, measures, pippetting

• Ability to follow Research Study procedures and document findings

• Good time management skills

• AALAS Certification is preferred but not required-we can help you obtain this!

Additional Job Standards:

• Comfortable working with small and large animals in research environment

• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Extensive Training Provided!

The first 6 months will be focused on training! We want to provide you the tools and resources to soar in your work! Once you've successfully completed all training .50 increase (typically around 6 months)
